Without earth, it is like having no garment free from the stain of washing; without an object to be measured, it is like having no standard of measurement. Without great Bodhicitta (བྱང་ཆེན་, *byang chen*, great Bodhi-mind), there are no branch virtues and activities; like without a knife, there are no qualities such as skillful and sharp, and no function of cutting. Without these four bases, there are no three jewels of fruition; like when a fire is extinguished, the smoke disappears. Without these seven meanings like the Vajra (རྡོ་རྗེ་, *rdo rje*, diamond/thunderbolt) of the Buddhas, there is nothing to be expressed in the Tantras or the final teachings; without that, there is nothing to be expressed in the intermediate and initial teachings and the Tantras, because there is no Dharmadhatu (ཆོས་དབྱིངས་, *chos dbyings*, the expanse of Dharma) great Bodhicitta. Without the Tathagatagarbha (བདེ་གཤེགས་སྙིང་པོ་, *bde gshegs snying po*, the essence of the Thus-Gone), there is no cessation truth, ultimate truth, the perfectly established, and suchness, so the four truths, two truths, three natures, five dharmas, and five bases are impossible. Please consider what kind of teaching activity it is to say that sentient beings do not have the Buddha-nature and to consider the Tathagatagarbha as provisional meaning, which are reversed views. (Byang Tsewa) Some say that the Tathagatagarbha is only with defilements, so it exists in sentient beings but not in Buddhas. To say that one's own essence does not exist in oneself but exists in others, does it not become 'The existent is in the non-existent, the non-existent is not existent, look at the examination of the fool'? If the Buddha does not have the Tathagatagarbha, then the qualities of the fruit of the essence exist when one becomes a Buddha, the suchness of the Buddha is the key to entering, the state of the completely pure Tathagatagarbha is called Tathagata, the essence is all-pervasive like the sky, the completely pure essence is immutable, the synonyms of the completely pure essence are Dharmakaya (ཆོས་སྐུ་, *chos sku*, Dharma Body), Tathagata, ultimate truth, and Nirvana (མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་, *mya ngan las 'das pa*, transcendence of sorrow), and the meaning of these inseparable qualities and the six irrationalities will occur. If you accept these, then the ten meanings of the essence of the Victorious One are not reasonable, because it contradicts 'The nature of the essence of the Victorious One is said to be ten aspects'. To those who refute the reason of the Dharmata (ཆོས་ཉིད་, *chos nyid*, the nature of Dharma) of the essence with logic, it is like hitting a diamond mountain with a hammer. To call the one who has not been liberated from the sheath of afflictions the Tathagatagarbha, and to call the liberated one Bodhi, the reason for repeating it two or three times is to dispel the doubt that sentient beings think that the suchness of sentient beings is not the Tathagatagarbha. For the remaining part, it is mainly explained in an emphatic way. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

最后还说‘Sarva-tathāgata-hṛdaya(藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:一切如来心髓)’和‘Dharmadhātu-jñāna-garbha(藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:法界智藏)’,这样宣说了智慧勇识本身就是如来藏。

Generally speaking, all Dharmadhatu (藏文:ཆོས་དབྱིངས་,梵文:Dharmadhātu,梵文罗马拟音:Dharmadhātu,汉语字面意思:法界) are the Tathāgatagarbha (藏文:བདེ་གཤེགས་སྙིང་པོ་,梵文:Tathāgatagarbha,梵文罗马拟音:Tathāgatagarbha,汉语字面意思:Womb of the Tathāgata), but especially, the Buddhas of ultimate truth Dharmakāya Dharma body) are the actual Tathāgatagarbha. If this were not the case, then the content of the Uttaratantra Highest Tantra), from 'as vast as the great ocean' to 'unable to look at like the sun,' would be without explanation. Moreover, in many Sutras, the Buddha Bhagavan Blessed One) himself is repeatedly spoken of as the Tathāgatagarbha. In the Tantras as well, in the accurate praise of the ultimate meaning name of Bhagavan Mañjuśrī-jñānasattva Mañjuśrī Wisdom Being), which is the collection of all the wisdom of the Buddhas of the three times into one, it says: 'The great essence of all Buddhas,' and 'Having become the essence of all Tathāgatas.' And at the end, it also says 'Sarva-tathāgata-hṛdaya (藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:Essence of all Tathāgatas)' and 'Dharmadhātu-jñāna-garbha (藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:Dharmadhatu-jnana-garbha),' thus the Jñānasattva (藏文:ཡེ་ཤེས་སེམས་དཔའ,梵文:Jñānasattva,梵文罗马拟音:Jñānasattva,汉语字面意思:Wisdom Being) himself is spoken of as the Tathāgatagarbha. In the great commentary on the Kālacakra Wheel of Time), the Vimalaprabhā (藏文:དྲི་མེད་འོད,梵文:Vimalaprabhā,梵文罗马拟音:Vimalaprabhā,汉语字面意思:Stainless Light), it says: 'The Bhagavan Vajradhara Vajra Holder) is supreme, is unchanging wisdom, is the essence of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The Tathāgata has thoroughly shown this with one hundred and sixty-two verses of supplication.' Thus, the object of the name recitation is spoken of as the Tathāgatagarbha. And it says: 'Those who are outside of the Tathāgatagarbha, those who are attached to enjoying objects with the senses, will be blamed for not seeing the truth and will go to Avīci Without Interruption).' And it says: 'The ultimate truth of the Tathāgatagarbha will be explained in detail in the fifth chapter.' Therefore, the Bhagavan Kālacakra himself is spoken of as the Tathāgatagarbha, which is inseparable from the Jñānasattva. Vajra Peak) it says: 'The Tathāgatagarbha is good, it is the great nature of the Dharmadhatu, it is not stained by the mud of afflictions, it is the empowerment of the Vajra Lotus.' And it says: 'I (藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:I) am said to be the essence of the Dharma, therefore I am the great king.' And it says: 'The pure one is the Tathāgatagarbha, it is said to be the Bodhisattva-garbha. I (藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:I) am the Tathāgatagarbha.' Thus, the Bhagavan Vajraśekhara himself is spoken of as the Tathāgatagarbha. In the Tantra of Prophesying Intentions, it says: 'The essence is the Buddha, this is the pure nature of Dharma.' Thus, there is no contradiction in saying that the glorious Guhyasamāja Secret Assembly) itself is the Tathāgatagarbha. Not only is it said in the Sutras that the Dharmakāya of the Buddha pervades like the sky, but it is also widely spoken of in the Tantras. For example, in the Kālacakra it says: 'In the vase...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
