Therefore, since the inherent existence of things cannot be found in either the true "one" or "many," all those phenomena such as the aggregates are definitely without inherent existence from the very beginning. This is (the meaning of the above scripture). Regarding this, Sharawa said: Master Chandrakirti, in the Madhyamaka Five Aggregates, said that in the context of the wisdom of the aggregate of formations, first the selflessness of persons is refuted, and then all objects of knowledge are divided into two categories, those with form and those without form, and their lack of inherent existence is determined by the reasoning of being separate from one and many. The venerable one said that determining it in accordance with this is the oral instruction of Jowo's Madhyamaka. Among these, regarding the selflessness of persons, it has already been explained above in terms of the five aggregates, eighteen elements, and twelve sources, and it has already been shown that the single "self," the "self" of cause, and the profound "self" are not established. Regarding determining the selflessness of phenomena, the Geshe himself said that the latter of the two reasons given, which shows the reasoning of being separate from one and many, is that if both cause and effect are examined with the reasoning of being separate from one and many, they cannot be established. All phenomena are included in the aggregates, elements, and sources, and there is no phenomenon other than these. If these are examined with the reasoning of being separate from one and many, merely scattering the five aggregates cannot establish them as one, and if each of the five is searched for individually, they cannot be established as one. Therefore, Jowo said that it is blissful to meditate only on this. Master Lekdenjey also said: The world arises from conceptual thought, conceptual thought arises from mind, and mind arises from body, therefore, one should first examine the body. First examine the aggregate of form, and within that, of the two, cause and effect, the form of the cause is coarse, so examine that. Of the four elements of the cause, earth is coarse, so first examine earth. Merely dividing the form of cause and effect into two does not establish the aggregate of form as one, and dividing the cause into four elements does not establish it as one. Even one such as earth cannot exist independently without being combined with the other three elements. Even if considered from the perspective of solidity, it is composed of many particles, so it is not one. If the particles are divided by the distinction of directions, they will become six or ten, so it is not one.

cannot be established. If each of them is analyzed, they cannot be established as any entity. The remaining three elements are also the same as this, therefore, the form as the cause is proven to be without self-nature. Thus, since the form as the cause is not established, the form as the result cannot be established either. The form as the result itself, namely the five faculties and the five objects, totals ten. According to the Vaibhashikas, adding non-revealing form, it is considered eleven, therefore it cannot be established as one. Each of the five faculties is also composed of the four great elements, color, smell, taste, and touch. Each of these has its own atom's substance. Since the body faculty pervades all form faculties, each of the four, eye etc., has the body's atom's substance, so if we consider without sound, there are ten atom's substances gathered together, and if we consider with sound, there are eleven gathered together, therefore it cannot be established as one. In the body faculty, apart from the atom's substances of eye etc., there are nine or ten gathered together, therefore it cannot be established as one. The objects are also composed of the four great elements, color, smell, taste, and touch, so if we consider without sound, there are eight atom's substances, and if we consider with sound, there are nine gathered together, therefore it cannot be established as one. Each atom's substance is also like before, if analyzed, it cannot be established as one, therefore it cannot be established as many either, so it is proven to be without the nature of being apart from one and many. Thus, since the basis and the object are not established, the five sense consciousnesses cannot be established. Since it is not established, the immediately following mind cannot be established. Since it is not established, the mind consciousness cannot be established. Thus, since the six consciousnesses, the mind, are not established, then their situation, or the mental factors such as feeling that are associated with them, cannot be established either. Thus, since the three, form, mind, and mental factors, are not established, then the non-associated formations such as birth that are imputed to their situation cannot be established either. Thus, if all conditioned things are not established, then would unconditioned things be established? The teacher Chandrakirti considered the unconditioned to be the two cessations, space, and suchness, and said that just because it is unconditioned, it is proven to be without self-nature, therefore there is no need to analyze. In the Madhyamakalankara etc., space etc.
