The connection of higher mind training is: Therefore, pure and complete enlightenment, the vows of the Bodhisattva's vows are pure, after effort, complete enlightenment, the accumulations will be completely fulfilled. Thus it is said. To this, Potowa said: Thus, if there is only higher ethical discipline, but no direct perception, one's own accumulations cannot be quickly fulfilled, and one cannot accomplish the affairs of sentient beings, therefore direct perception is needed. For this, one must also practice calm abiding. For this, its limbs and abiding in the accumulations are necessary, the connection of higher ethical discipline and higher mind training is: Therefore, it is said "Therefore." Although it is said "Therefore," it seems that it will become one thing. Pure vows, this matter seems to become a matter of pure vows, it has been said before. Later, this verse is both a connection and shows the greatness of the superiors. If one cultivates well the three trainings of ethical discipline, the respect for these three will increase more and more, therefore it is also said "Therefore." As just said, if one cultivates well these three ethical disciplines, then for these three ethical disciplines of vows and virtue, the Dharma of gathering and accomplishing the affairs of sentient beings, the respect increases more and more when learning, therefore, it becomes the cause of purity, or the nature or self or way of purity, complete enlightenment, for the vows of the vows that become the Bodhicitta, etc., these three, as shown before, after effort, the accumulation of complete enlightenment as the fruit will be completely fulfilled. Thus it is said. Khenpo Palden said: Thus, if one cultivates well these three ethical disciplines, one obtains complete enlightenment through pure vows, because it is the cause. Second, explaining higher concentration training or mind training, divided into two: the greatness of the fruit, direct perception, and the way to learn the cause, mind training. First, Sharawa said: In order to fulfill one's own accumulations, accomplish the affairs of sentient beings, and eliminate the obstacles and hindrances of oneself and others, all require direct perception, of which two are included in the scriptures, and the last one arises from the key instructions. First, the greatness of fulfilling one's own accumulations lies in: The nature of merit and wisdom, The accumulation is complete, The cause is all the Buddhas.

All of them. (They) consider the arising of clairvoyance itself. (They) said that. That is to say, if all the accumulations to be perfected are gathered together, then the two accumulations of merit and wisdom are gathered here. When will these two accumulations be perfected? Even the former will change as soon as they are perfected. However, the cause of quickly perfecting these two accumulations is that all the Buddhas of the ten directions and three times agree that clairvoyance itself arises in the mindstream of that Bodhisattva. In this regard, Sharawa said: "Birth, speech, and mind, good and non-good arise, the place and origin of them, directly knowing everything, perception pervading, well distinguishing, unobstructed and stable, is the power of attainment." As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras, if one possesses all clairvoyance, then perfecting the accumulations is effortless, like doing it with one's hands. Even if one only remembers past lives, one can perfect the accumulations. This is because remembering past lives is considered important. If one possesses clairvoyance, then generosity naturally exists, as stated in the Jataka Tale of the Giver of Hot Gruel. At that time, the king always extended his hand to give alms, (he said:) "Even a small act of reverence to the Sugata, there is no saying that the result is small, but I have heard before. Look at this hot gruel, rough and without salt, yet it has such a great result. Various kinds of chariots, horses, and majestic elephants, my great army and this great earth, abundant wealth, glorious splendor, possessing vast consorts. Look at the good result achieved by just one bowl of hot gruel." He often recited these two verses. Because others could not ask him the reason for saying this, the queen, who possessed great power and unobstructed eloquence, asked him. He said: "In my previous life, when I was a hired laborer in this city, I respectfully offered a bowl of rough, unsalted hot gruel to four mendicant monks. As a result of this, I have now obtained the wealth of kingship, and I remember it as if waking up from a dream, so I recite it like that." Therefore, one should still respectfully practice generosity now. The excellent path manifested by auspicious marks, I still rely on it. Worldly people are the result of generosity...

Hearing that there was a child, he gave it. If I myself have experienced it, why not give it away? So he said. That queen also said that in a previous life, when she was a slave girl, she respectfully offered a mouthful of coarse food to a person who had exhausted all outflows. Therefore, you have now become my queen, and you remember it as if you remember what you did when you were a child. Although the thing was meager, it was given when there was nothing, and the field was the Sangha and Arhats. With the merit of thought, it became a great result. It is said that the army's assembly has four divisions and became the master of the great earth up to the ocean. The story of the seven treasures does not appear. Similarly, discipline also arises naturally, as stated in the Jataka of the Dumb Youth. That prince remembered that he had previously ruled the kingdom for six years, and therefore fell into hell for sixty kalpas. Now, fearing to lose the throne again, he did not want to speak when it was time to speak, nor did he want to walk when it was time to walk. When he was shown to a doctor, the doctor said that there was no problem with his reproductive organs, and that he would naturally speak and walk when the time came. For the sake of treating the fever, he sent an executioner to kill him, threatening him with the manner of killing, and said a word on the way. The prince said that he could speak, but when he came home, he did not speak again. There, people understood that he could speak, and said, "Say what you want." When he went to the sacrifice, he said, "Then let me be ordained." Thus, he was ordained. Similarly, patience also arises naturally. From the ocean, a Garuda bird grabbed a snake and ate it on the top of Mount Meru. At that time, a monk was meditating, and the snake saw him and developed faith in him. At the time of his death, he was reborn into a wealthy family. From then on, all his perfections became very abundant, so he was named "Rabjor." In the first half of his life, due to habit, he became very angry. After being ordained, he remembered his previous life. Previously, when he was a monk in the teachings of the Blessed One Light Protector, he saw that the behavior of another monk was not proper, and said that he was like a snake. Due to this karmic result, he was reborn as a snake for five hundred lives from then on. At that time, if he had not developed faith in the monk and died, then he would have been born in hell.
