One should not accept it, just as one would drive away something that comes into a snake's nest. Having recognized the faults, one should rebuke it and practice the antidote. If one accepts it, it will arouse all breaches of discipline, and therefore one will not be able to protect it. If one does not accept it, because the motivation is reversed, the downfall will be reversed, and one will be able to protect it, therefore it is called "abiding near." As Phuchungwa said, even when afflictions are now pressing on the outer skin, one must loosen it a little from below. Now, without recognizing afflictions as enemies, one has taken refuge in Jowo himself. If one recognizes the enemy as oneself, there will come a time when Tasma arrives. If one repeatedly sees the faults and relies on the antidote, then what arises in the mindstream will become less and less, the power will become weaker and weaker, and the duration will become shorter and shorter. Eventually, it will also become completely non-arising. The abiding near of patience is not accepting the arising of anger and resentment, etc. For the first practitioners of the desire realm, it is impossible for those not to arise at all. One must abandon what arises without accepting it. If one accepts it, then "The merit accumulated in a thousand eons, such as offerings to the Sugatas, All that has been well practiced, A single moment of anger will destroy." In this way, it will burn all virtues. Knowing that by abandoning sentient beings, the mind of enlightenment will also be abandoned, one should not accept it. The abiding near of diligence is not accepting the arising of inferior laziness and indolent laziness. If one accepts it, one will not even attain a good rebirth, let alone omniscience. If one does not attain it, one will not be able to accomplish the benefit of others, therefore, one will deceive all sentient beings who are invited as guests. Thinking that by speaking a great lie, one will fall into the lower realms. Represented by "Those who carry the heavy burden of sentient beings on their heads, It is not beautiful for the supreme sentient beings to walk slowly. Since self and others are tightly bound by various bonds, Therefore, one should exert oneself a hundredfold." Treat it as the difference between one sentient being and all sentient beings. As it is said in the Compendium of Trainings, one should practice the four aspects of abandoning, protecting, purifying, and increasing the mind of enlightenment without interruption, and put on armor in that way. The abiding near of meditation is when the five obscurations and the taste of them arise

Do not accept them. Desire, malice, sleep, drowsiness, excitement, regret, doubt, etc., sleep and drowsiness make the mind dull, so they are combined into one. Excitement and regret make the mind scattered, so they are combined into one. If you accept these five obscurations, desire and malice will hinder the guarding of precepts. Sleep and drowsiness will hinder the practice of mental discipline. Excitement and regret will hinder the practice of wisdom, so you cannot attain samadhi. If you taste its flavor, it will cause what has been attained to decline, so you should not accept them. Our minds are constantly controlled by the five obscurations, so we must strive to practice the antidotes. Now we have not even tasted the slightest flavor of the bliss of meditation. If we did, it would be even more difficult to abandon than the pleasure of desire. The five aspects of wisdom are: knowing the benefits of virtuous results, knowing the causes of virtue, knowing the obstacles to virtue, knowing the perversions of virtuous results, and knowing the non-perversions of them. Now, if you do not even understand the illusion-like nature, it is said that all others are useless. If the path of seeing has not arisen, what use is worldly dharma? It is necessary to have some understanding of the Dharma. Without these, you cannot generate the illusion-like wisdom. With these five, all purposes are accomplished. First, knowing the benefits of virtuous results means knowing the benefits of attaining higher realms, which can serve as the basis for the three liberations; the benefits of liberation for hearers and solitary realizers are the permanent abandonment of suffering and its causes; the benefits of attaining omniscience are the perfection of abandonment and wisdom, and the activity becomes a resource for all sentient beings, and so on. Second, knowing the causes of virtue means knowing that the causes of virtue manifesting in body and speech are the three, such as non-attachment. The causes of the three, such as non-attachment, are relying on noble individuals, listening to the sacred Dharma, proper attention, and abiding in favorable environments. Third, knowing the obstacles to virtue means knowing the opposite of those causes. Fourth, knowing the perversions of virtuous results means knowing the perversions of virtuous results in higher realms.
