Therefore, it is said, it is certain that its own nature is empty. Alternatively, for all the phenomena that are both cause and effect, such as the aggregates, if analyzed with the reasoning of one and many, other than the above two lines of reasoning, then whether it is one or many, no truly existing own nature can be found. Therefore, all those phenomena such as the aggregates are determined to be empty of own nature from the very beginning. That is to say, Sharawa said: Master Chandrakirti, in the fifth chapter of the Madhyamaka Five Aggregates, in the chapter of wisdom, first spoke of the selflessness of the person, and then divided all knowable things into two types, form and formless, and established their lack of own nature with the reasoning of being separate from one and many. He said that establishing it in accordance with this is Jowo's Madhyamaka key instruction. Among them, the selflessness of the person has already been discussed above, through the five aggregates, eighteen realms, and twelve sources, it has already been shown that the self of a single entity, the self of the cause, and the profound self are not established. In order to establish the selflessness of phenomena, two lines of reasoning were given. Geshe himself said that the latter reasoning of being separate from one and many cannot be established for both cause and effect phenomena, because if analyzed with the reasoning of being separate from one and many, all phenomena are contained within the aggregates, realms, and sources, and there is no phenomenon other than these. If these are analyzed with being separate from one and many, merely scattering the five aggregates cannot establish them as one, and if each of the five aggregates is searched for separately, they cannot be established as one. Therefore, Jowo said that it is happy to meditate only on this. Lekdenjye also said: The world arises from discrimination, discrimination arises from mind, and mind also arises from body, therefore, the body should be analyzed. First analyze the form aggregate, and among them, analyze the cause and effect, the form of the cause is coarser, so analyze it. Among the four elements of the cause, the earth element is coarser, so first analyze the earth element. Dividing the form of cause and effect into two, the form aggregate itself cannot be established as one, and the cause is also divided into four elements, so it cannot be established as one.

Like earth, none can exist independently without being combined with the other three. Even in terms of solidity, it is composed of many atoms, so it is not singular. If the atoms are divided according to direction, they become six or ten, so they cannot be established as one. If each of these is further divided by direction, then no nature can be established. The remaining three elements are also the same as this, so the form as a cause is proven to be without inherent existence. Thus, since the form as a cause is not established, the form as a result is also not established. The form of the result itself is also the five sense faculties and the five objects, a total of ten. According to the Vaibhashika school, adding the non-revealing form, it is considered eleven, so it cannot be established as one. Each of the five sense faculties is composed of the four elements, color, smell, taste, and touch. Each of these has its own atomic substance. Since the body faculty pervades all tangible faculties, the four, such as the eye, each have the atomic substance of the body, so if sound is not considered, ten atomic substances are gathered together. If sound is considered, eleven are gathered together, so it cannot be established as one. The body faculty, apart from the atomic substances of the eye and so on, gathers nine or ten, so it cannot be established as one. The objects are also composed of the four elements, color, smell, taste, and touch, so if sound is not considered, there are eight atomic substances. If sound is considered, nine are gathered together, so it cannot be established as one. Each atomic substance, like before, if divided by direction, cannot be established as one, so it also cannot be established as many, therefore it is proven to be without a nature that is separate from one and many. Thus, since the basis and object are not established, the five sense consciousnesses are not established. Since that is not established, the immediately ceased mind of those is not established. Since that is not established, the mental consciousness is not established. Thus, since the mind of the six consciousnesses is not established, the states of these, or the mental factors such as feeling that are associated with these, are also not established. Thus, since the three, form, mind, and mental factors, are not established, the non-associated compositional factors such as birth, which are imputed on these states, are also not established. Thus, if conditioned phenomena are not established, then are unconditioned phenomena established? The venerable Chandrakirti said:
