Then Sharawa said: "From the time of explaining the activities of the Dharmakaya of the Holy Mother (Tibetan: rgyal ba'i yum bar ma) and all the Buddhas, it has been said like this. If one has it, accomplishing the benefit of others is: with the clairvoyance of the divine eye, one sees where the beings to be tamed are; with miraculous power, one goes there; with the knowledge of others' minds, one knows all their thoughts; with the knowledge of previous lives, one also knows the previous karma and habits, and with whom and with the teacher there is a connection; with the clairvoyance of the divine ear, one hears all the prayers of the beings to be tamed, and teaches the instructions in the language they can understand; with the clairvoyance of the exhaustion of defilements, one appropriately places them on the cause of the three liberations. For example, Jowo's lama Awadhutipa sometimes offered a large mandala and flowers and prayed, but because he knew that the time for it to be meaningful had not yet come, he remained as if praying to a stone. Knowing the time to be beneficial, he crossed the great river. When one is busy and worried and restless, even when holding a small worm, one should not despise it. Thinking, 'This pandita and yogi are such great scholars, they have such great samadhi,' and despising this and that sin, now with great clairvoyance he knows that beings are in this hell, hungry ghosts are there, and says so. Similarly, when walking on the bridge, turning his face back to speak, etc., even when there seems to be no opportunity at all, he also spoke many instructions with a topic and with reasons. As shown before, when Jowo prayed to Dombiwa, he blessed him without meeting him. Later, a mantra practitioner prayed to him, and he said, 'I have no karmic connection with you. I have a monk disciple like this, I blessed him, and that night he had such a dream, and obtained such samadhi and qualities. You have a karmic connection with him, pray to him.' Then, that mantra practitioner offered Jowo some mandalas, stayed for a few days, and soon said that he had directly seen the Heruka mandala, saying that he had seen the Dharma. Also, a novice monk who serves the Khenpo and studies the Dharma, and when looking at the temple, facing the executioner deity of Yama...

Upon arriving there, the story of the two who said, "Is this your progress in meditation?" was told, as well as the story of Abbot Gold-Soba and Khudol. Like that, when giving instructions at a time when wisdom increases in the mindstream of others, it is said that to the extent that the wisdom of others increases, to that extent one's own accumulation of wisdom is perfected. They explained the two great benefits of clairvoyance, which are contained in the scriptures. Third, regarding the greatness of removing obstacles and hindrances for oneself and others that arise from the instructions, Sharawa himself said: Even to remove one's own obstacles and hindrances, clairvoyance is necessary, just like the story of the master Padmasambhava. The master and servant went to the Auspicious Mountain to see Jomo (Tara), and on the mountainside, they saw two old women spinning thread. When they went to the top of the mountain, they saw nothing. When they looked at the lineage of the arising of Tara, it was shown that they were the same two as before. Having gone there and requested instructions, the servant, because of great faith, attained accomplishment. The master, because of great wisdom, doubted the instructions, and therefore did not attain accomplishment. There, Jomo said, "Now you will not attain accomplishment in this life, so make King Indrabodhi your patron, and make the yogini Meha-ra, who is of low caste, your yogini, and then practice." Having done that, he did not attain accomplishment in his practice. When he looked with clairvoyance at what had caused the obstacle, it turned out that the master was also of royal lineage, and by making a yogini of low caste his yogini, the master's lineage declined and he became of low caste. Because he made him his master, the king also became of low caste. Therefore, the whole country was seized with sorrow because of the decline of the lineage, and knowing that this was the cause of the obstacle, knowing full well, he said to the king, "Go and ask the worldly people for a way to restore the lineage, and then come back." It is said that although he said "worldly people," he was actually asking the Brahmins who recite the Vedas that protect the country. When the king asked, the Brahmins said that if the master and the yogini were burned to ashes, the lineage could be restored. At a time when he could not bring himself to say it, the master asked, "What is good to entrust to the worldly people?" The Brahmin said, "Recite it." The master said, "I am asking, what is good to entrust to the worldly people?" The Brahmin said, "In any case, you must do it that way."
