Although (Buddha) said that even if you have the ability to reverse (a bad) situation, don't think that you can choose not to reverse it. Because the Pratimoksha vows are obtained from all sentient beings, if a person with complete limbs kills another person, it is like abandoning the vows obtained from all sentient beings. The mind of Bodhicitta is also obtained from all sentient beings, so even if the love and compassion for all other sentient beings have not diminished, if you abandon one sentient being and exceed a certain time limit, then the Bodhicitta obtained from all sentient beings will be emptied. Even abandoning a small animal will abandon Bodhicitta. Therefore, to counteract this, you should always practice love and compassion for all sentient beings, and especially practice love and compassion for those sentient beings whom you are in danger of abandoning. From the beginning, be careful not to have conflicts with anyone. Now is the time when it is most important to protect your own mind from being disturbed, so even actions based on the intention to benefit others should be minimized, let alone other things. Helping others needs to be controlled by the Lama. If the Lama does not control it well, then compassion is likely to turn into hatred. If there are too many actions, conflicts are likely to occur. Even if a conflict occurs, you should especially practice love and compassion towards that person, and try to treat them gently within the allotted time. It is said that Geshe Wang Sing had an unpleasant feeling towards someone in Radreng (rwa sgreng, in present-day Lhundrup County, Lhasa), so he practiced love towards that person, and as a result, the next day when he met that person, that person became very pleasant. Just as Geshe Mangrawa constantly asked others for forgiveness, these are the key points of action. For us, it is impossible to never have conflicts. If you remain silent during the allotted time, but say that this is to maintain the heat of practice, because arguing is hatred, and regard it as a virtue, then it is difficult to subdue it even with antidotes during the allotted time. As (in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara) says: First examine what you can do, then decide whether to do it or not. Not doing it is the best, but once you have done it, do not retreat. Therefore, first, as mentioned earlier, understand all these things that should be learned, and only after you are sure that you can integrate them into your practice, then vow to do it. After vowing, you cannot give up on the pretext that it is not effective. As (the Kadampa Geshes) said, whether you can do it or not, you must do it. You cannot shirk responsibility.

There is no fault in abandoning someone like Baba Jowo Bhum, because there is no opportunity to abandon him with thought. If one's own mind has no fault, then there is no fault in not being able to convince others. For example, Jowo satisfied the wishes of Jnana Pada, so the abbot of Vikramala always held a grudge. Or, like the Tathagata and Devadatta, who were born with one body and two heads on an ocean island, thus holding a grudge. In all of these, one must ensure that one's own mind has no fault. Now, Sharawa said that just because they are bound by the caste system, there is a danger that their entire caste will be completely abandoned. Regarding time, Geshe himself said that sometimes the day is long, and the whole day is the same, and about one-sixth of the time has passed. He said that there is no need to look at the dawn. Fifth, the four dharmas of abandoning the four black dharmas and practicing the four white dharmas as their antidotes are: deceiving the lama, the place of giving, and those worthy of offerings; speaking harsh words filled with hatred to a Bodhisattva who has generated Bodhicitta; not approaching sentient beings with selfish intentions through deceitful and deceptive behavior; causing others to regret things they should not regret. The four white dharmas that are their antidotes are: not speaking false words, even for the sake of life or joking; regarding a Bodhisattva who has generated Bodhicitta as the teacher Buddha, and proclaiming their true qualities in all directions; approaching all sentient beings without deceit or deception, but with sincere intentions; guiding others to virtue and causing them to mature, especially causing them to mature in the Great Vehicle. Sharawa the Great said that the definitions of these and how they become abandonment and antidotes are: First, in the commentary, the place of giving and those worthy of offerings should also be included in the lama's dharma. Deception should also be explained from the perspective of not admitting fault and deceiving when talking about downfall, which would be a bit broader. The instructions say that the lama is someone with whom one has a Dharma connection, especially someone one trusts; the place of giving is the Sangha; and those worthy of offerings are those other than the above who have vowed to uphold the vows of merit. These are the objects.
