Filling completely with countless priceless jewels, the great merit of offering to the Bhagavan Buddha, the protector of the world in a special realm, is surpassed by anyone who cultivates their mind in loving-kindness and compassion, the mind of enlightenment. In the presence of a guru or Buddha, with a respectful posture, joining their palms, with the intention of benefiting others, seeking the wisdom of omniscience, and turning their mind towards the fruit of perfect enlightenment. As it is said: When the wise cultivate the mind of enlightenment, it is a flawless flower, exceedingly fragrant, exceedingly beautiful, and soon becomes the supreme victor. In this way, this offering produces a merit that is more excellent than the previous offering. For the latter offering, the measure of merit is so great that it cannot be grasped. This is what Sharawa said. He said that offering such excellent things to the protector of the world in a special realm is less meritorious than the latter. Offering to the Buddha in this way, the small merit that arises is not overwhelmed. The Buddha himself prostrates to the stupa of hair and nails, and even offering a mandala to the Buddha, one obtains a thousand times more than the wheel-turning king who possesses as much land as is contained beneath it, and ultimately, from the Buddha, all that cannot be understood by the mind is actually accepted, and gradually the pure Buddha-fields are obtained. It is said that even offering a small amount of perfume, etc., produces immeasurable merit. Therefore, offering such a vast offering produces immeasurable merit, and it is said that even greater merit than that, one should believe all this and always practice it. If one practices it, it is said that the greater merit than the former is also the true meaning. In terms of the offering itself, that is the supreme material offering. This is the unsurpassed practice offering. The former has great merit, but it is limited. The latter has no measure or limit. We ourselves have too little understanding of the Dharma, so our own mind of enlightenment

Although one can practice without obstacles, one does not consider being happy about it. If one sees others doing something like teaching the Dharma or making grand offerings, one's mouth waters, and one feels inferior. The scriptures say that there is only this much difference in practice. Merely practicing this is not enough, and one should not belittle other meritorious deeds such as offering to the Three Jewels. For both, one must strive with all one's might. If one does this, one will promote the other. Therefore, the scriptures say to strive in the deeds of the two accumulations, which is a teaching. It is also said that the mind of enlightenment arises from accumulating merit. This is mainly to refute those who believe that purification can be achieved through offering to the gods. It is also to refute those who always practice the mind of enlightenment but worry that the accumulations may not be complete. The third teaching is: In order to generate the mind that has not arisen and to prevent the mind that has arisen from declining and to increase it, one should strive in the deeds of the two accumulations. "Having generated the mind of aspiration for enlightenment, one should diligently increase it with many means." Thus it is said. Regarding this, Potowa said, "It can be accomplished by striving in the two accumulations." Sharawa Gekong once said, "It has actually become clear that there is no reason why it cannot be accomplished." Therefore, as mentioned before, with the mind of aspiration for enlightenment, vowing to attain the great fruit of enlightenment for the benefit of others, and thus becoming a Bodhisattva, what needs to be done is to increase the mind of enlightenment at all times with many means of accumulating the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, and in order to prevent the mind of enlightenment from declining, one should also practice all the teachings below. Sharawa himself said, "It is the method of attaining Buddhahood in the Bodhisattva path, and its action is only accumulating the two accumulations, so 'with many means' means striving in the deeds of the two accumulations. Wisdom together with its cause is the accumulation of wisdom, and all other virtuous deeds are the accumulation of merit." This is what is said in the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning. Among them, wisdom arises from cultivation, its cause is the two of hearing and thinking, or wisdom itself, its cause is meditation, because Shakyamuni Buddha said that through meditation one can truly understand reality. Or rather, wisdom is hearing and thinking.
