Due to the effect (of karma), they suffer, and on the iron ground, iron bulls trample with burning hooves. Fourth, in the Calling Hell, beings suffer inside a burning iron mesh house, crying and screaming in pain. Fifth, in the Great Calling Hell, there are two-story houses, and the suffering is even greater than before, so the cries are even louder. In both of these hells, birds, dogs, snakes, and bees formed from karma, with iron beaks and claws, enter through the mesh and peck at them. Sixth, in the Heat Hell, both the inside and outside of the iron house are burning, and the beings are cooked in a large iron cauldron that is many yojanas in size. A burning iron skewer pierces from below and emerges from the top of the head. They are hammered with a burning iron hammer. Seventh, in the Very Hot Hell, on top of the previous suffering, a burning iron skewer with three points pierces from the anus and the soles of both feet, and emerges from the top of the head and both shoulder blades. Burning iron sheets are wrapped around the body. In the flames, they are placed head down, leaving only a skeleton. After being taken out, they are spread on the iron ground, and flesh, skin, and blood grow, and they are cooked again. Eighth, in the Uninterrupted Hell, on top of all the above sufferings, there are eleven piles of fire called the Uninterrupted Fire. In all directions, corners, above and below, the hell beings themselves and everything are consumed by flames, making terrible noises. One can barely recognize that they are beings, and one cannot even distinguish who the hell beings are or what the fire is. The fire burns, but it does nothing but burn. Therefore, the beings in the Uninterrupted Hell, in great darkness, have unbearable suffering. Even if the suffering is great, it would be bearable if the lifespan were short. But the suffering is extremely unbearable. Even if they experience it millions of times, they will not die until their negative karma is exhausted. As it is said, the lifespan is also extremely long. If we say that the lifespan of the desire realm gods and the days and nights are the same, then the shortest lifespan among them is the Reviving Hell, and the lifespan of the Reviving Hell is that the gods of the Four Great Kings Heaven consider fifty human years as one day, thirty days as one month, and twelve months as one year, and their five hundred years.

Can endure. It is said that one day in the Reviving Hell is taken as a month and a year, and it is said that one can live to be five hundred years old. Nar Thangpa Sangye Gompa asked Khenpo Peldenpa, "What is the difference between the lifespan of the Reviving Hell and the saying 'die a hundred times a day, be cut a hundred times, and live a hundred times'?" He replied, "Dying a hundred times a day, being cut a hundred times, and living a hundred times is a type of suffering in the Reviving Hell. It is not a lifespan. A day is not human either. What is said is the lifespan of the Vipaka fruit." It is said that this is how it is. From there onwards, the lifespan and days of the Thirty-three Heavens and all the remaining desire realm heavens are long in a reversed way, extremely hot, and can endure half a middle kalpa, and the Avici Hell can endure one middle kalpa. If one is born in those places, one cannot expect the time of liberation to come. Even if one can be liberated, those who are reborn and do not have enough causes for the actual hell will be born here. After experiencing the suffering of the actual hell, those who now do not have enough causes for the suffering of the actual hell will also be born here, and this is enough for us. Having made sixteen parts, there seems to be a tight collection. It is like a city surrounded by a moat or four layers of iron mountains. As Sharawa Chenpo said, the sixteen neighboring sufferings are called the hells, and each of those hot hells has pits of burning embers in four directions. Mud of rotting corpses. Rivers of hot water without ashes, a total of three. Forests of sword-leaf blades. Forests filled with razors. The Shalmali trees are all counted as one because of the harm of weapons. Thus, according to the Abhidharma, there are four times four, sixteen. Or, as the Mindfulness Sutra says, there are sixteen neighboring hells in each direction, and in all these places one must experience sufferings such as being burned, cut, and pierced. The so-called neighboring hells are said to exist on the seashore and so on, and those who are born there also have immeasurable sufferings such as temples and monks being burned, and eating their own flesh. Apart from these, the eight cold hells are the Blister Hell, the Bursting Blister Hell, the Achu Hell, the Kyihu Hell, and the Sonam.
