说了七种。又说在此赡部洲下二十千由旬处，有热地狱的最低处无间地狱。如前者所说，从等活地狱到其他地狱有四千由旬。其北方超过一万由旬处有寒地狱。也说在海边和其他地方有零星的地狱。近边地狱，如《俱舍论》所说，每个热地狱的每一方都有四个火坑等，总共十六个。从《念住经》中也说了十六个增支部有许多不同的处所。总之，十八地狱的痛苦形态中，八热地狱的第一个等活地狱没有狱卒和火的损害。地狱的众生们互相视如仇敌，拿起任何东西都变成武器，互相残杀。这时，空中发出“活过来吧”的声音。身体像以前一样复活后，又互相残杀，一天要死一百次，活一百次，感受这样的痛苦。对此，夏惹瓦说，等活地狱一天死一百次，活一百次，如果是地狱自己的日夜，痛苦还不算大，如果是人的日夜，就无法忍受。这确实是人的日夜。纳塘巴的堪布贝丹巴说，这可以通过“这里一天三百短矛刺”等来了解。第二个黑绳地狱，狱卒是猪、蛇、牛头等形状，只有嘴巴可见，他们抓住那里出生的所有众生，或竖或横，在身上画上黑线，用斧头等工具进行切割、剥皮等处理。下部被切割时上部复活，上部被切割时下部复活，总是被切割，非常痛苦。第三个众合地狱，同样的狱卒抓住那里出生的众生，放在两个像山羊头或绵羊头一样的山中间，挤压身体，使其破碎流血。两山分开后，身体复活，又像以前一样。

Seven were spoken of. It is also said that twenty thousand yojanas below this Jambudvipa is the lowest place of the hot hells, Avici Hell. According to the former, from the Reviving Hell to the others there are four thousand yojanas. To the north of that, beyond ten thousand yojanas, are the cold hells. It is also said that there are occasional hells on the seashore and in other places. The neighboring hells, as stated in the Abhidharmakosha, each side of each hot hell has four pits of burning embers, totaling sixteen. From the Mindfulness Sutra, it is also said that the sixteen additional parts have many different places. In short, among the forms of suffering in the eighteen hells, the first of the eight hot hells, the Reviving Hell, has no hell guards or harm from fire. The beings of hell see each other as enemies, and whatever they pick up turns into weapons, and they kill each other. At that time, a voice comes from the sky saying, "Revive!" After the body revives as before, they kill each other again, dying a hundred times a day and reviving a hundred times, experiencing such suffering. Regarding this, Sharawa said that dying a hundred times a day and reviving a hundred times in the Reviving Hell, if it were the hell's own day and night, the suffering would not be so great, but if it were a human day and night, it would be unbearable. This is indeed a human day and night. The Khenpo Peldenpa of Narthangpa said that this can be understood through "Here, three hundred short spears pierce in one day," etc. In the second, Black Line Hell, the hell guards have the shapes of pigs, snakes, and bull heads, etc., with only mouths visible. They seize all the beings born there, and either vertically or horizontally, they draw black lines on their bodies, and use axes and other tools to cut and skin them. When the lower part is cut, the upper part revives, and when the upper part is cut, the lower part revives, and they are always being cut, which is very painful. In the third, Crushing Hell, the same hell guards seize the beings born there, and place them between two mountains like goat heads or sheep heads, crushing their bodies, causing them to break and bleed. After the two mountains separate, the body revives, and it is again as before.
