l. It is said that the necessity of necessity is related to necessity. 2) General explanation of the characteristics of the three types of individuals who are the basis of accomplishment. Regarding the characteristics of the three types of individuals who are the basis of accomplishment, there are two aspects: a general explanation and a specific explanation. The first is: Know that there are three types of individuals: small, medium, and great. The characteristics of these should be clearly explained by writing about their individual differences. It is said. Furthermore, Shara's teachings say: To make it clear, the small, medium, and great individuals, and so on. The term "individual" (Tib. skyes bu) refers to purusha (Skt. पुरुष, puruṣa), which means capable or intelligent. It refers to someone who is capable of accomplishing benefits for future lives and beyond. There are three states of such individuals. As it is said, believing in the law of karma, abandoning non-virtue, and practicing virtue, one dwells in this state and is capable of accomplishing the basis for happy migrations, which is the state of a small individual. Knowing that all of samsara is suffering, one abandons the causes that lead to samsara and is capable of accomplishing one's own liberation, which is the state of a medium individual. Embracing all sentient beings with love and compassion, one is capable of accomplishing perfect enlightenment for their benefit, which is the state of a supreme individual. Therefore, from the term purusha, the state of an individual who is capable of accomplishing benefits for future lives and beyond is known to be these three. Therefore, in order to clearly explain the characteristics of the three states of individuals, one should write about their individual differences. It is said. Those who only look at this life and dwell in it do not have the name of "individual." The teachings of Putowa and Shara, father and son, say that we only consider those with wealth and learning as husbands. Even more than those with wealth and learning, the barley accumulated by each mouse in the north, even if it is not barley, is enough to fill a yak's load. Similarly, those who are good at forming factions, drinking, and arguing in this life are called husbands. Even more than such people, crows and vultures have these qualities. Therefore, in Gyal Lhakhang (place name), they wage war against each other every year, driving each other from their homes. It is said that the army on their own side filled the iron fence of the temple. The enemy only considers killing and plundering as important, and for people, it is only a slight threat. Owls and crows, etc.

Animals are superior to humans. In the sandy land between Ra Zun and Drak Gyab, last year a crow plucked out the heart of an owlet and killed it. It is said that this year the owl also killed the crow's chick in the same way as before. In terms of skillful means of retaliation, they are also superior to humans. All the gnats tormented the snake from the hole, like stabbing reeds into the snake's vital points. Arrogance and oppression are also superior to humans. It is said that the elephant that appeared in Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya) is present in everyone. At a grand gathering, the day before, an underage king rode an underage elephant through the market, and the next day, both of them, having matured, passed through the market. The former elephant returned to its own place. After a few days of trampling grass and water, its hooves dried up. The latter elephant, without thinking, lay down and struck its scapula with one tusk. Then it struck again from the front, breaking the scapula. It is said that this story is the teaching of Jowo (Buddha). Therefore, all of us treat ourselves as no different from animals, and all of this is just something to contemplate. Geshe Spyi Buwa said: In the meantime, guard your own mind-stream, and vow to practice the Dharma yourself. If people tease a Bhikshu Bodhisattva, their own state becomes no different from that of animals. Even with such effort, there is no gain in this life, not even a speck of dust on a fingernail. Think repeatedly that the future is endless. Where do you place your mind, and do you possess the meaning of human life, or not? Thinking this, fold your ten fingers on your chest and contemplate. If you do not possess it, it is very important to generate the meaning of human life in your own mind-stream in any way possible. Like this, when generally showing the characteristics of the three types of individuals as the basis for practice, Geshe Tonpa, like establishing the body of the treatise, spoke some instructions on the order of entering the presentation. The Geshe himself said: All of these are the instructions of my Guru, so I cannot say them casually. Now the Dharma is also about to decline, and I, an old man, am also about to die. He said this repeatedly in the Sangha: If a virtuous friend who can lead disciples goes to lead disciples, then the first one is Buddha.
