It is extremely vast, filling the realm of space, and even then it remains with remainder. Thus it is said. The venerable Sharawa said: If that (Bodhicitta's) merit were to become a tangible object, even if it only produced as little as a few barley grains from each sentient being, it would certainly exceed the capacity of filling the realm of space, this is indeed the true and unerring meaning. If it is said that merely giving one sentient being one meal a day, or placing one sentient being in the ten virtues, or placing them in meditation and the immeasurable states and the formless absorptions, or placing them from stream-enterer to solitary buddha, also produces immeasurable merit, then for all the sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand worlds visible to the ordinary eye, if one possesses the clairvoyance of a worldly god, the sentient beings seen within the range of one chariot wheel are said to be many. More than all the sentient beings of the three thousand worlds seen by that worldly person and all the previous ones combined, are the sentient beings seen by an arhat, a meditator with eight liberations, with divine eye within the range of a chariot wheel. More than all the sentient beings of the three thousand worlds that have become the object of his clairvoyance, are the sentient beings seen by a tenth-ground bodhisattva with the eye of liberation and inconceivable samadhi. More than all the sentient beings of the three thousand worlds that have become the object of knowledge of all beings except the Buddha, are the sentient beings seen by the Buddha within just the former. So many sentient beings of the three realms, without exception, completely liberated from the suffering of samsara, wanting to place them in Buddhahood, this characteristic of the mind of enlightenment, Bodhicitta, produces such great merit. Therefore, even if it only becomes a tangible object from each sentient being, it will produce merit that the realm of space cannot contain. Since that merit is so great, even obstructing the practice of that moment will produce great sin, as indicated by the previous point. From the "Entering the Path of Bodhisattvas," it is said that generating the mind of enlightenment by looking at one's own great merit is said to be devoted to the inferior. In particular, if it is for the benefit of sentient beings, even if one does not generate merit for oneself, but rather a great fault occurs, it is still the meaning of generating it, it is said. Second, that (Bodhicitta) itself is the Buddhas

Therefore, offering with intention becomes the supreme offering. To show that its merit is superior to material offerings, it is said: "As many as the sands of the Ganges, in the Buddha-fields, if someone fills them all with precious jewels and offers them to the Protector of the World, it is superior to someone who joins their palms and generates the mind of enlightenment. This offering is the most excellent, and its merit is limitless." That is to say, like this material offering, there is no way to make it greater. Like the container world, as many Buddha-fields as there are grains of sand on the banks of the Ganges River, relying on a certain faithful person among sentient beings, completely filled with excellent and invaluable treasures, offered to the special object, the World Protector, the Buddha Bhagavan. Although the merit is very great, it is not as great as another person who has cultivated loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment. In front of the supreme object or the Buddha, with the respectful action of joining palms, with the thought of benefiting others, in order to obtain the omniscient wisdom, turning the mind towards complete enlightenment. As it is said: "The wise cultivate the mind of enlightenment, this is a flawless flower, extremely fragrant and beautiful, soon to become a victorious king." In this way, this offering is more excellent in merit than the previous offering. For the later offering, the limit of the amount of merit, the boundary up to this point, cannot be determined. So it is said. Sharawa said: Such excellent objects, offered to such an excellent object, the World Protector, it is also said that the latter's merit is greater. Making such offerings to the Buddha, the small merit that arises does not overwhelm the former. With the Buddha's actual objects, prostrating to the stupa of hair and nails, and offering a mandala to the Buddha, even under these, how much land is contained within, until reaching the golden wheel, how many dust particles are there, from these dust particles obtaining a thousand times the Chakravartin king, and finally, from the Buddha, obtaining everything that wisdom cannot grasp, all must be truthfully attributed to it.
