The one who is endowed, who has well-studied and mastered the precepts of higher morality, who can understand the principles of any gate he enters through the senses, who is endowed with perfect courage and diligence, whose compassion for sentient beings increases greatly, and who is very quick to attain omniscience for the sake of others. If he knows that the means to this is the great and swift secret mantra, and if he wants to enter into it, then it is possible for him to enter. There is no difference between Sutra and Tantra in the first three perfections. It is the place of diligence, and there are other means of generating meditation and wisdom. Jowo Rinpoche said in the practice method of Lokeshvara that the characteristics of a disciple are that he has a stable bodhicitta based on great compassion, turns his back on all existence, abandons all grasping, is endowed with wealth such as faith, generates the perception that the lama is no different from the Buddha, and has respect for the vows given by the lama. Karma Pakshi said that if there is a qualified lama, one should receive empowerment. Phuchungba heard this and said that if there is a lama, it seems that one admits that one is a qualified vessel, which is very difficult. It is so. All the tantras say that the characteristics of an acharya are even more superior, such as: "The acharya abandons worldly dharmas and is very knowledgeable in the ten dharmas." Or: "Stable, gentle, intelligent, patient, upright, and without deceit, knowing the union of the secret mantra tantras, he should perform the work of drawing mandalas. He fully knows the ten aspects, bestows fearlessness on all sentient beings, and is always happy with the Great Vehicle. He should be regarded as an acharya. He fully knows the outer scriptures, the path of the Shravakas, and the collection of secret truths, but does not know the Great Vehicle. He does not have compassion, lacks faith and diligence, always engages in evil conduct, and does not revile the scriptures. One who possesses the characteristics mentioned above should be regarded as an acharya." And so on. Abandoning worldly dharmas is also common to the Shravakas. Giving up life for the sake of the Dharma.

views, not entering the teachings of outsiders, turning away from the vehicle of the Hearers, delighting in the Great Vehicle, understanding the ten suchnesses, knowing all the combinations of secret mantras and tantras, being skilled in activities such as drawing mandalas, being a great benefactor who bestows fearlessness upon all sentient beings, one needs to enter as a Vajra Holder who perfectly engages in the union of skillful means and wisdom. Although we enter the door of secret mantras and practice, we cannot generate any qualities, which is because there are neither suitable disciples nor qualified teachers, and there is confusion and reversal. Now, even in India, it seems to be just like Tibet. In Tibet, some people come to sell mantras, and it seems that they are doing everything in order, but it seems that they only focus on gain and wealth, and suitable vessels will not appear. If there are suitable disciples and qualified teachers, then one must receive empowerment to perform the activities of secret mantras, and the empowerment of secret wisdom cannot be done by those who practice celibacy. To do the work of a teacher, one must receive the empowerment of a teacher and receive permission from the lama, and one needs to have the qualities of a teacher. These three points are established by this section of mantras. We have all gone beyond these boundaries, listening to secret mantras without being made into vessels through empowerment, and then going to do all the activities of a teacher without any of the qualities of a teacher. All the statements that reciting this mantra this many times will bring this benefit, are like "the power of mantra itself is accomplished." The greatness of secret mantra lies in this, not in what cause. In all the tantras such as the Abhisambodhi of Vairochana and the Samaya Three Vows Tantra, it is asked from where the power of secret mantra comes, and it is said that it comes from the secret mantra itself. This depends solely on unwavering faith in the greatness of secret mantra. Jowo Rinpoche (Atisha) accomplished everything through faith alone, and all the accomplished teachers of the past also attained accomplishment through faith alone, not just through instructions. That is to say, in the aspect of the Paramitas, wisdom is also the main thing, in the aspect of secret mantra, faith is the main thing.
