No. If it arises from causes and conditions, its nature becomes something made. What is the nature like? How can it be said to be made? Because the scriptures say that the nature cannot be altered by causes, therefore, aggregates and so on, from the very beginning, their nature is emptiness without self-nature. Sharawa said: Just as a vajra can destroy all things, this reasoning can also destroy the attachment to reality, so it is called vajra. Because it is subtle and difficult to understand, it is called a particle. The second reasoning, examining both cause and effect by separating one and many: Or all phenomena, if analyzed by one and many, because self-nature is not found, it is certain to be without self-nature. It is said in the scriptures, or for all the phenomena of both cause and effect of aggregates and so on, if analyzed by this reasoning of examining one and many, which is different from the previous two reasonings, if the real one and many are analyzed, it is not possible to establish the self-nature of reality, therefore, all the phenomena of aggregates and so on, from the very beginning, are certainly without self-nature. Sharawa said: The master Chandrakirti, in the fifth chapter of the Madhyamaka Sutra, when talking about the aggregate of formation and wisdom, first talked about the selflessness of person, and then divided all knowable things into two types: form and formless, and determined their selflessness by the reasoning of separating one and many. Determining selflessness in this way is the essence of Atisha's Madhyamaka. Here, the selflessness of person has been discussed earlier in the five aggregates, eighteen realms, and twelve sources, and it has been explained that the single self, the constant self, and the profound self cannot be established. In order to determine the selflessness of phenomena, two reasonings are given, the latter of which, the reasoning of separating one and many, Geshe himself said: If the reasoning of separating one and many is used to examine both cause and effect, it cannot be established. All phenomena are included in the aggregates, realms, and sources, and there are no other phenomena besides these. If these are examined by separating one and many, it will be found that the five aggregates are scattered.
