Rapuwa went to visit. There, everyone discussed where there was a suitable place for practice. Kharpuwa said, "I have seen a good place for practice, above Wawo Tang." After saying this, he set off, but it is said that the place was not good, and no good omens appeared. Even if you give up your own two places, if your attachment to other people's places and relatives increases, it will be even worse. As it is said, "For everything, be as if you have never seen it before, and live in an unfamiliar place." You should do it like this. Do not, because of greed for a little tsampa or a little tea, enjoy happiness and suffering together with those Lhachu Kur people. Now, if you meditate, you must learn to focus on the state of nothingness, but this will not work, you must live in the Sangha. Even if you do that, you will not be able to attain shamatha or clairvoyance in this lifetime. In order to be able to obtain these in the future, you must, as the Prajnaparamita Sutra repeatedly emphasizes, apply all virtuous dharmas to practice, practice yourself, and also have others practice, praise the merits of practice, and rejoice in the practice of others. If you do not understand yourself, it is difficult to rejoice, and this is wrong practice. Do everything you can to create favorable conditions for practice and eliminate obstacles. "For those who have no Dharma meaning, if they become very poor, immediately eliminate their poverty, there is no better giving than this." Like this, the ultimate giving is also creating favorable conditions for practice. When Jowo (Atisha) was living in Nyetang, there was a practice community living in Burpur, and I went to visit those practitioners and was happy for them. However, he only said that he would practice in the future. The great yogi said that it was just talk, so he hoped he would come, but in the end he did not come. It is said that Jowo said, "What do we have that is worthy of Jowo's attention and joy? Jowo has already imparted the oral instructions." If you diligently accumulate merit as stated in the Prajnaparamita Sutra, the result of accumulating merit will not be in vain, and you will definitely be able to obtain these in the future. The cause and condition of your own practice will make you a practitioner in the future. Helping others and protecting them from obstacles will make the favorable conditions complete and no obstacles will arise. This also relies on pure discipline based on a firm foundation of faith.

Therefore, whatever one does, one should always contemplate the Three Jewels of Refuge, and especially contemplate the greatness of karma and its results. Having done so, if one turns away from sin, then the blessings of the Buddha will also descend. The so-called blessing does not refer to anything else. It refers to the fact that the firm belief in the Dharma becomes stronger and stronger, abandoning incompatible aspects, and generating antidotes in the continuum. If the ability becomes stronger and stronger, then it is said that the blessing has entered. Second, explaining the object of meditation for cultivating calm abiding: On any object of meditation, the mind should be placed on virtue. It is said. That is to say, just as it has just been taught, residing in the accumulations and limbs, what is the object of meditation for cultivating calm abiding? From the Hearer's ground, it is said that it must possess four qualities: scriptural authority, realization, sequential order, and non-perversion. An object of meditation with these characteristics, whichever is suitable to one's own karmic connection, faculties, and afflictions, one should focus on that, and the mind should be placed on its virtuous aspect. That is to say, Sharawa said: That object of meditation must also be one that exists in the scriptures and is pointed out by the lama. Even if it exists in the scriptures, it cannot be self-made or forcibly obtained. Even if the lama points it out, if it does not exist in the scriptures, it cannot be trusted. Meeting a genuine lama, and from obtaining instructions after meeting, generating samadhi, and not losing it after generating it, all of these require accumulating merit. Therefore, one should strive to accumulate merit in various ways. By accumulating merit, if one meets a lama with clairvoyance, then the lama will guide you to practice any object of meditation that is suitable to your own karmic connection, faculties, and afflictions. If we are not like that, then Atisha's stages of the three types of individuals' mind training are completely the key instructions. All the objects of meditation spoken of in the Dharma are also included in these. If there is karmic connection, then all of these have the potential to be transformed into samadhi, and it will also come about in that way. Objects of meditation for purifying actions, such as contemplating ugliness on desire, etc., any of the five are fine. That is to say, just as the venerable Maudgalyayana's son taught the same object of meditation to two disciples, but they could not generate it, while Shariputra, being the best of the wise, changed that object of meditation, and as a result, samadhi quickly arose, so the object of meditation
