As it is said, one should constantly engage in all actions of body, speech, and mind with mindfulness and awareness, thereby taking and abandoning, and not generating faults. This is called having caution that follows along. Among these, the first three are in terms of confessing transgressions, while the latter two are in terms of avoiding the generation of faults. Ninth, complete ritual: For immediate matters, such as the actions of Dharma robes and alms bowls, one should act in a way that is not criticized by worldly scholars and does not contradict the holy Dharma Vinaya. For all four postures, one should act in the same way, such as the five sets of new instructions and the four sets as taught. For virtuous activities, such as meditation and reading, one should act in the same way. Putowa said, "We people have no basis for understanding or discussing all of this as Dharma. When walking, we look around in all directions like losing a cow in the evening. Our steps are staggering and swaying. When we gather together, we speak in a way that cannot be faced directly, as if winning a battle." Tenth, complete livelihood: The teacher's "Ratnavali" says, "Feigning discipline for gain and respect, controlling the senses is flattery; flattering for gain and respect, speaking gentle words first; soliciting for the sake of obtaining, praising the possessions of others; measuring by what is obtained for the sake of gain, openly disparaging others; desiring to obtain gains by gains, praising what was previously obtained." Thus, abandoning the five wrong livelihoods, as well as living by the four types of agriculture, and even abandoning craftsmanship as a livelihood. Living by teaching the Dharma is also counted as craftsmanship, so abandoning all of that. At midday, one should only accept what comes on the outstretched hand from alms, and not even think about where tomorrow's livelihood will come from. That is true complete livelihood. Now, those who are sharp-eyed and quick-footed get nothing. It seems that even the most fortunate person will not receive a mouthful of food or a sip of drink that has not been obtained through wrong livelihood. From the day of taking vows, one must learn everything, because the vows of ordination have no delayed time, even if one lives to be a hundred years old after taking the Bhikshu vows.
