To guide, it is like when a ship is wrecked in the middle of the ocean, Indra manifests an island. The Blessed One himself said in the Mahayana sutras: If I were to teach various vehicles, beings would become partial and develop stinginess towards the Dharma. In that way, they would not attain Buddhahood, so I did not teach various vehicles. The scriptures speak of a winding path and a straight path. For the winding path, there is no need to repeat it twice. Once is enough. The winding path refers to entering the path of the Hearers (Shravakas) and, even after attaining the result, having to learn the Mahayana path from the beginning again. Now, one might wonder, since there are three definitive goods, namely, definite victory, good rebirth, and enlightenment, are the enlightenments of Hearers and Solitary Realizers not also results? But they are not ultimate results. Even those of the Hearer and Solitary Realizer lineage, through the power of accumulating merit, can meet a Mahayana spiritual friend and immediately transform from the path of accumulation into the Mahayana. Immediately entering the path of preparation, the path of seeing, it is possible to transform to the Arhat with remainder of aggregates. There are also those who say that it is not possible to transform from the state of no remainder. However, this school believes that even after entering the state of no remainder, transformation is possible, because the Buddha will urge them to take a mind-made body, and then, guided by the thought of benefiting others, cause them to accumulate merit and thus connect them to the Mahayana. Therefore, if one attains the result of the inferior vehicle and then practices the Mahayana path: "Those again and again, Having self-mind manifest, For the joy manifest in Nirvana, Are said to have slow realization." As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras, again and again, the self-mind manifests, therefore realization is slow, and it is necessary to summarize all the vehicles. Geshe Tonpa said: A common person who possesses all bonds, if they generate the mind of a Hearer and practice that path, then for each higher quality that can suppress a certain amount from the twenty types of Sangha, it will take eighty-four thousand great eons to go further away from the enlightenment of the Buddha, as explained in the Ornament for Clear Realization, please consider it carefully. Therefore, from the very beginning, one should generate the great mind of enlightenment and enter the path of the Great Vehicle.

Moreover, to accomplish liberation, this is also a shortcut. To achieve Buddhahood oneself also requires reliance on sentient beings. Even if the Shravaka vehicle is included in the category of having ultimate liberation, if one abandons the sentient beings who act as parents in the three realms and seeks one's own liberation, then there is nothing more shameless than that, as previously stated. Think in this way. If one does not practice because of fear of becoming a Shravaka's evil deeds and falling into demonic realms, then, if the Shravaka vehicle has ultimate liberation, entering their path and attaining Nirvana, then the benefit of others will be forever interrupted. Even if there is no ultimate liberation, one will still be far from benefiting others, therefore one should practice the One Vehicle. In short, in any case, one must attain Buddhahood. The Characteristics of a Supreme Being The characteristics of a supreme being, who is the basis for practicing the path, are: Through the suffering of realizing one's own continuum, Whoever wishes that all the sufferings of others, Completely cease and are all exhausted, That being is the most supreme. It is said. Previously, in the stages of the lesser and intermediate beings, it has been determined that the sufferings of the lower realms and samsara in one's own continuum, therefore, because of recognizing that those are sufferings, if someone fears the sufferings of the lower realms and samsara, measuring by their own experience, for any sentient being who is experiencing the sufferings of the lower realms and samsara, also with unbearable compassion, wishes that their sufferings cease. Moreover, not just one aspect of suffering, but wishes that all forms of suffering cease. Moreover, placing these wishes on the gods and humans of the desire realm can only temporarily stop the sufferings of the lower realms, or placing them on the happiness of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, even if the sufferings of samsara cease, one must start again to practice the efforts of the Mahayana path, like this, just the thought of temporarily stopping suffering is also not right. Rather, one wishes that all sufferings are completely and fundamentally stopped, and places it on Buddhahood, a person who wishes this from the depths of their heart and marrow, is the one called a supreme being among the three states of beings. Like this, learning the characteristics of a supreme being, the great Sharawa also said: It is not enough for oneself to be liberated from samsara, one must regard all beings as parents, and wish that all sentient beings are liberated from the sufferings of samsara,
