It is not permissible. Being completely controlled by a virtuous spiritual friend or virtuous companion and associating with him, he always sows faith, and one must always meditate on that which is grounded in faith. All his actions depend on the monk. Since one knows nothing oneself, one must associate with a genuine monk until the end of one's life. Can one succeed even by staying at home with just a little firm faith? Mostly one will not succeed, so one must rely on monasteries and solitary places. Even the path to achieving a good rebirth, which cannot achieve liberation, is the same. It is not just that here. Like the basis or foundation for gradually leading to the Great Vehicle. If one practices human religion well, the path to the realm of the gods is not far. On the ladder of humans and gods, if one climbs, liberation is near. This comes from the Hundred Wisdoms Sutra, or, first the Dharma that manifestly increases, later the Dharma that necessarily arises well. As it is said in the Precious Garland. Therefore, just as Putowa and Chen-nga were in agreement, one must look at the tip of one's nose to go to Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya). If one does not look there and stumbles outside the steps and breaks one's leg, one will not even go to Todlung. Similarly, in order to accomplish omniscience, one must not take rebirth in a place where there is no leisure, he said. If one does not have faith in karma and its results, even if one thinks that everything before that exists, it is like building a house with a cloud ladder on ice. Phuchungwa went to the one who was staying there. Did you contemplate dependent arising? he asked. I replied that I had not even contemplated the connection of bones. He said that one must contemplate that. The Vinaya holders, yogis, and other Abhidharma holders, whoever does not avoid monastic disputes, that is because they have not contemplated it. If some of us here show off divination, like a mantra practitioner who has gone to Mar, one says: Does your teacher not have a sloppy meditation on emptiness for everyone? If I were to give you advice, your cleverness and stupidity would disappear together. He said that, and said not to mistake that. If by contemplating this, something comes to avert sin, then the training in higher ethics of the intermediate person will also come naturally. The ethics of the Bodhisattva vows

It is also the same. Geshe Tonpa said, "All the vows of the secret mantra, no matter how important or strict they are said to be, are actually nothing more than abandoning the ten non-virtues." It is said that Atisha also said like cutting something with a knife, "What I completely cut off is nothing more than abandoning the ten non-virtues." Therefore, if there is no foundation like the Dharma category of the small person, there will be no middle floor of the intermediate person, and there will be no top floor with cloud ladders of the supreme person. So now the most important thing is to stabilize the view of the small person. He said that without this, the above would become superficial. People in the Khampa region also said, "No matter how good the upper Dharma is, the important thing is the lower Dharma." The characteristics of the intermediate person: The characteristics of the intermediate person are: turning away from the happiness of samsara, abandoning sinful actions. If one only seeks one's own peace, such a person is called an intermediate person. It is said that not only should one abandon the suffering of the evil destinies, but also recognize that all seemingly happy samsara are painful and deceptive in nature, and turn away from them without attachment. In addition, all actions and afflictions that create samsara are called sins here. Therefore, if there is a person whose basis (referring to body and mind) abides in abandoning these sinful actions, and the fruit he seeks is only the Nirvana of his own peace, then among the three states of a person, he is called an intermediate person. That is to say, the word "if" excludes the situation of the small person pursuing the happiness of samsara; the word "only" excludes the situation of the great person not abiding in Nirvana for the benefit of sentient beings, and what remains is the intermediate person. The method of learning its characteristics is: Sharawa Master said to all the old people of Gongbawa: "Don't talk about the suffering of the three evil destinies, wherever you are born in samsara is suffering, you must realize that there is no happiness at all, and thus be disgusted with samsara, just like wanting to escape from prison, or like a bird on a frozen lake, realizing that there is no place to stay, only then can you be called an intermediate person." It is said that if you have such an idea, you should learn the method of liberation from samsara rather than putting out clothes or hair that suddenly catch fire.
