It has been explained that the Dharma, the Perfection of Wisdom, other than those methods, must be understood as the wisdom that is inseparable from those methods. As Sharawa said: "We have no doubt that method and wisdom are established separately for us." But in the Ornament of the Sutras, it says: "Completely grasping the means of non-discrimination." Having explained non-discrimination as a means, and knowing the cause and effect of conventional truth as wisdom, and so on. In the Compendium of the Great Vehicle, it says that non-discrimination in the three spheres is the supreme skillful means. If you are confused about which of these two it is, in order to eliminate this confusion, clearly distinguishing between the two is abandoning the Perfection of Wisdom, that is, all virtuous Dharmas such as whiteness or erasing its sound, or the Perfection of Giving other than it. As stated in the Sutra of the Jewel Crown with the example of drawing the image of a king, the mindstream of sentient beings is like a canvas, and if all aspects of method and wisdom, like a painter, are complete, then the three bodies of the Buddha, like the image of a king, will be completely perfected. If any one is missing, it will not be perfected, so it is necessary to meditate on emptiness with all the supreme aspects by completing all the parts of the six or ten perfections, the four means of gathering, the four immeasurables, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and so on. Therefore, it is said in this way, and one must also gradually learn the methods. The six perfections, such as giving, also arise gradually, and giving itself is first external objects, then internal objects, and the external objects themselves must also be guided to giving vegetables, etc., so one must first strive to combine them. Then gradually expand the scope. Having become accustomed to these, gradually, there will come a time when giving up one's own body will be easier than losing vegetables now. Fourth, the order of meditating on these methods and wisdom is: "By the power of familiarizing with methods, if one meditates on wisdom, that person will quickly attain enlightenment, not by meditating on selflessness alone." It is said in this way. That is, first, one must tame one's mind through the stages of the three types of individuals, and the result

Son, if you wish to attain great Bodhi, you must diligently practice the methods from generosity to meditation, relying on great impetus. Just as, depending on the power of wrapping, the colors on a cloth are vivid or not, similarly, depending on the power of projection, the wisdom of liberation is vivid or not. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras, one who possesses the nature of arising from wisdom and strength, whatever object of meditation, that is, the meaning of the two selflessnesses, the Prajnaparamita, contemplating it properly, then, relying on the practiced methods, one will reach the peak of wisdom. Therefore, Jowo's master, Awadhuti, said: Emptiness and compassion are the only ones, realized by oneself as what is to be realized. From the clarity of emptiness, one desires the union of essence. As it is said, the path, method, and wisdom are inseparable, emptiness and compassion are inseparable, that is the wisdom of the Buddhas. Emptiness is not other than compassion, and compassion is also the supreme wisdom. As taught by the teacher Nagarjuna, one will quickly attain the fruit of complete Bodhi. Apart from that, if other methods are not firmly practiced, merely meditating on the selflessness of the person, then even that cannot be realized. Even if it is realized, it is only within the scope of the Hearers, and one cannot attain complete Bodhi. As Sharawe said: It is also because of practicing the methods that, relying on that great impetus, wisdom arises naturally. Relying on the methods, wisdom practices emptiness, it is also necessary to not abandon the distinctions of conventional cause and effect but to unite them. Because of practicing the methods, relying on these, one can reach the peak of wisdom, therefore, by the power of practicing the methods, oneself, etc., as said, relying on the methods, one can reach the peak of wisdom, that is: Knowing birth, one knows destruction, knowing destruction, one knows impermanence, if one knows how to enter impermanence, then one also knows the Dharma. Or, the nature changing to another nature is never reasonable. In this way, merely practicing impermanence can also reach the peak of wisdom. If one practices karma and its results, then because of believing in karma and its results, one can remove obstacles and accumulate merit.
