To attain unsurpassed Bodhi Enlightenment). One must turn away from this life. Guru Namo! The venerable master said: If one truly practices the Dharma and takes it to heart, one must first turn away from this life. Its meaning is that if one strives for the eight worldly concerns such as wealth, respect, fame, and praise, then one has not turned away from this life. Even the wise cannot help, and even those with virtues such as monks cannot help. Therefore, by contemplating death and impermanence, one must find a way to turn away from this life. He said, 'If there is nothing after death, then one will not be at a loss, but because karma still leads to rebirth, one must believe in karmic results.' Even small evils must be avoided, because the scriptures say that even small evils can lead to falling into lower realms. Therefore, abandon even the smallest sins, and abandon them through antidotes. Keeping the Pratimoksha vows is also the same. Furthermore, if one wants to attain the bodies of gods and humans, practicing virtue can lead to higher realms, but if one does not attain unsurpassed Bodhi, even being born as a human is meaningless. There is no difference between now and the past, and one cannot escape from the suffering of samsara. Everything is impermanent, so there is no happiness. The characteristic of the truth of suffering is impermanence. 1-10-44a Therefore, it is very important to be disgusted with samsara. In this way, if one becomes weary of the suffering of samsara and contemplates peace alone, thereby realizing the selflessness of the individual, then one can attain the Nirvana of the Shravaka. For this one-sided emptiness, because there is no activity of the Buddha to benefit sentient beings, the Mahayana path is the most supreme. If viewed from a worldly perspective, even if Tibetans are bad, if they focus solely on benefiting others, they can become of the Mahayana lineage. Even if one keeps saying Mahayana, Mahayana, one must cultivate the connection between love, compassion, and Bodhicitta, and whatever one does, one must do for the benefit of sentient beings, and that is Mahayana. He said, 'Conventional Bodhicitta, in Tantra, speaks of the four immeasurables, etc.' Jowo Je said, 'If one cultivates the connection between the previous three, they can be gathered together.' It means that there is no sentient being who has not been our father and mother. He said, 'They have been our parents countless times.' He said, 'Samsara has no beginning and no end.' When they were our parents, all sentient beings were kind to us, so I will benefit them and make them happy, that is love. Just as one does not want suffering, all sentient beings also do not want suffering. Just as one wants happiness, all sentient beings want happiness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, thinking, 'I shall free sentient beings from suffering,' this thought is compassion. The appearance of self and other is mind, therefore it is thought of as merely appearance. In reality, the appearance of self is mind. Looking at the mind itself, since there is no concrete recognition of things, the purpose of self cannot be achieved. Then, for the benefit of all sentient beings, I shall attain perfect and complete enlightenment. This thought is Bodhicitta (བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སེམས་, bodhicitta, bodhicitta, the mind of enlightenment). It is said that for this wisdom, aspiration and action Bodhicitta are cultivated sequentially. This is the ultimate intention. The supreme ultimate Bodhicitta. This ultimate Bodhicitta pervades all of Samsara and Nirvana. This is called Dharmata (ཆོས་ཉིད་, dharmatā, dharmata, the nature of reality). Understanding the meaning of Dharmata means that Prajnaparamita (ཕ་རོལ་ཏུ་ཕྱིན་པ་, pāramitā, paramita, perfection) completely pervades external objects. Through rational analysis, faith arises in the emptiness of external objects, and through meditation, Dharmata is manifested. This is a path. It helps to abandon attachment to things. We divide it into view and practice. The view does not seek Dharmata from the outside. One's own clear and unattached consciousness is itself Dharmata. This is called unconditioned. Since the knower itself has no nature, it is called Dharmadhatu (ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབྱིངས་, dharmadhātu, dharmadhatu, the realm of dharma). It is also called Suchness (དེ་བཞིན་ཉིད་, tathatā, tathata, thusness), the true limit, the ultimate truth, this is the view. Practicing through meditation is empowered by Mahamudra (ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ཆེན་པོ་, mahāmudrā, mahamudra, great seal). The ultimate truth is the view. Practicing through meditation, first, one should let go of body and mind, etc., away from effort. Therefore, in a secluded place, on a comfortable cushion, the Tathagata (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་, tathāgata, tathagata, thus-gone) looks straight ahead with unmoving eyes. One should look in this way. Meditate on Bodhicitta. Visualize oneself as a deity, and visualize the Lama (བླ་མ་, guru, guru, teacher) above one's head. Maintain one's original state, without artificiality, and rest naturally. If one is artificial, it becomes conceptual thought, so it is very important not to be artificial. In this state, if conceptual thought arises, do not abandon it, because it is self-arisen, so keep it directly as it is, and rest naturally. Do not be dualistic. Mahamudra is non-dual. All dualistic appearances are various illusions caused by ignorance. In short, it is said that Mahamudra should be meditated upon as being free from the defilements of the mind. Beginners should shorten the duration of each session but increase the number of sessions. By meditating continuously in this way, the four yogas of experience will also arise sequentially. Since appearance and mind are non-dual, one will not be harmed by circumstances, and all the qualities of Samsara and Nirvana will be naturally present. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
