The mind that grasps inwardly, its basis not established, is emptiness. That which is grasped and that which grasps together are signs. The three kinds of profound and not profound teachings are: the not profound is to grasp that there are virtuous and non-virtuous causes, and from experiencing the results of happiness and suffering, to have faith in karma and its results. All phenomena of samsara and nirvana have never existed; to temporarily understand them as like dreams and illusions is the intermediate. The profound is the primordial state, like the ocean, unfathomable in depth, hence profound. The three of mind, sentient beings, and mind-essence are: mind is the awareness that grasps at self. Sentient beings are all sentient beings. Mind-essence is the uninterrupted Dharmakaya. The three of cause, path, and result are: that which causes to arise is the cause; that which causes to increase is the path; that which causes to be perfected is the result. If we take the example of evil, from the cause of ignorance arises sin; from small sins, it increases to great sins, and the result is the three lower realms. If we take the example of good, the pāramitās (perfections) are the cause, awareness is bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment). The path is the six pāramitās, or the three trainings. The result is the three kayas (bodies of the Buddha). In terms of secret mantra, the cause is awareness bodhicitta, the path is the two stages of generation and completion, and the result is the three kayas. If you meditate on death, you will not pursue the aims of this life. If you meditate on the faults of samsara, you will not be reborn in samsara. If you meditate on karma and its results, you will not be reborn in the lower realms. If you meditate on loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta, you will not be reborn as a śrāvaka (hearer) or pratyekabuddha (solitary realizer). If you meditate on the profound teaching of emptiness, you will not be reborn in the formless realms. Meditating on death has three benefits and five qualities: it gives rise to renunciation, it increases faith, it becomes a whip of diligence, it does not cling to the world, and it turns towards nirvana. There are three levels of meditating on death: the highest does not hold onto things for a day, the intermediate does not hold onto them for a month, and the lowest does not hold onto them for a year. Homage to the noble lamas! Mind-essence, co-emergent, is the Dharmakaya Appearance, co-emergent, is the light of the Dharmakaya Mind-essence, co-emergent, is the nature or essence of mind. Appearance, co-emergent, is the conceptual thought that arises from it. This is like the sun and the sunlight, or sandalwood and the fragrance of sandalwood. Among these, the three dharmas to be realized and the three dharmas to be practiced are: appearance, co-emergent, in the state of being nothing, various appearances arise; this is what needs to be realized. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One must realize that although things appear in various forms, in reality, they are nothing at all. One must understand that duality is inexpressible. For this, there are three practices: First, for the co-emergent nature of mind, relax the body and mind without effort or practice; second, in between, without any doubt, leave the mind uncorrected in its natural state; and finally, one must recognize that all arising sensations are unborn. The Three: View, Meditation, and Action: View is uncorrected, innate awareness; meditation is non-conceptual, ordinary awareness; action is non-attachment, the six senses are free and unrestrained; means is non-distraction, continuous mindfulness. In reality, Buddhas and sentient beings have the same root, appearances and mind-essence are not different, the innate nature is Suchness itself. However, children, not understanding, are confused about the essential meaning. These are the precious words of the Lama Rinpoche, instructions to the practitioner Gomchung. Regarding the methods for pacifying illness, there are two methods for transforming the mind: following and cutting off. There are two methods of following: taking the illness itself as a method, and leading the awareness elsewhere with wisdom. Taking the illness as a method means: the illness of conceptual imputation, which has become an illness due to not being diligent in Dharma or meditation. You are holding onto no-illness as illness, and relying on that illness, you will encounter an unerring Dharma. This is also the method for causing the unerring Dharma to arise in the continuum, and it is also the method for quickly obtaining results. If he is taught in this way, he will not see the illness as a fault, but thinking that qualities will arise from it, he will have faith in the illness and it will naturally subside. The root of not recovering from the illness is hope and doubt: hope obstructs, doubt welcomes. He knows that the illness itself is the method, and without doubting the illness or hoping for recovery, he releases attachment and the illness naturally subsides. The same should be done for harm from spirits. Following is healing in the manner of following. Following can also be taken as a way of receiving the blessings of the deities. Training the mind by leading the awareness elsewhere with wisdom means: not letting the awareness dwell on the illness, but leading his awareness wherever it wants to go. Transferring the awareness elsewhere, recognizing the awareness that clings to the illness as wisdom. No matter how the awareness transforms, it is the nature of Dharma. Alternatively, the illness can be pacified through the gate of cutting off: directly targeting the illness itself, thinking about where the awareness goes, the previous illness will naturally subside, this is the nature of Dharma. Alternatively, tracing the origin of the illness and assigning it a color and shape will also pacify the illness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
