The Yoga of Food Namo Guru. Rinpoche said: In general, there is no way for anyone to avoid the yoga of food. Therefore, a mantra yogi should know the yoga of food and the yoga of conduct. For all food and drink, bless them with Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and then, considering oneself as the deity of Yidam, make offerings. This is the yoga of food. To do all actions in the state of Dharmata is the yoga of conduct. Therefore, a mantra yogi should not say, 'This food cannot be eaten,' 'This action cannot be done,' 'These clothes cannot be worn.' Without fear of anything, act like a brave lion. Having entered the path of mantra, one must abide by the vows. Among them, there are two types of vows: the vows to be protected and the vows to be practiced. The vows to be practiced are: the body does not separate from the pride of the deity, the speech does not separate from recitation, and the mind does not separate from non-origination. These are the vows to be practiced. The vows to be protected are: abandoning the fourteen root downfalls and the ten non-virtuous actions. The three actions of the body are the vows of the body, the four actions of speech are the vows of speech, and the three actions of the mind are the vows of the mind. At the time of holding knowledge, it is also said like this: 'I am a deity, and others are also deities. How can a deity kill a deity, strike a deity, quarrel, or lie?' One should think like that. In general, mantra is taught in secret. If it is not kept secret, the door to accomplishment will be lost. Relying on a Virtuous Spiritual Friend Namo Guru. Lama Rinpoche said: When a qualified lama and a qualified disciple meet, if they are guided properly, there is no difficulty in cutting off the wrong path. Relying on a virtuous spiritual friend, otherwise, the time to attain the path will not come. A lama is one who has the eye of wisdom and the eye of Dharma. The eye of wisdom establishes what is to be known, and is skilled in the general and specific characteristics of the Dharma. It can explain the meaning of the Dharma without inversion, without confusion, and without error. The one with the eye of Dharma understands the meaning of the Dharma deeply without error, experiences the nature of the Dharma itself, and genuine wisdom arises from within. Without losing that nature, it can liberate oneself and the fortunate disciples. It can also help others to awaken. Or, the characteristics of a lama are four: having the uncommon qualities of the Three Jewels, obtaining the ownership of faith, and having compassion for sentient beings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obtaining the self-nature of happiness, embracing all sentient beings in compassion, having firm faith in the profound Dharma, realizing the true nature of all phenomena, and giving rise to definite understanding. Obtaining: Not being attached to one's own closeness, benefiting others without distraction, and if one possesses the ability to teach the Dharma to others, one can guide them. Those teachers speculate from the outside, seeking to realize the Dharma nature through research. They hope to hear much Dharma, believing that without hearing much, they cannot think, let alone practice. If one can receive from the guru's mouth and settle the mind, then clinging will naturally be liberated, which is very important. Venerable Sherab Zangpo (ཤེས་རབ་བཟང་པོ།, Śerab Zangpo, Wise and Excellent) once said, 'If one can settle clinging, then clinging will naturally be liberated.' They say there is no need to practice, which is the view of those teachers. If discursive thoughts do not cease, then the words of terminology will never be exhausted. Before realizing the true nature, they rashly establish things. Practitioners cut off additions from within, thereby realizing the Dharma nature, aiming to be proficient in everything through understanding one thing. Milarepa once said, 'Relying on the key instructions of the practice lineage, everything can be thoroughly decided.' All the Dharma that has been learned is forgotten, but all the Dharma that has not been learned naturally appears. Even if I teach the Dharma a million times, it will not be exhausted. If there are both Marpa (མར་པ།, Marpa, Marpa) and Ngok (རྔོག, Ngok, Ngok) as gurus, they can debate the Dharma with each other.' Even without learning, one can naturally understand, and the understanding corresponds to the true meaning. Gönpawa (དགོན་པ་པ།, Gönpawa, Gönpawa) said, 'Even when singing a small song, it should flow from experience; if there is no experience, what can one know?' Similarly, I am confident in my practice, relying entirely on the guru's instructions. Whether it is the Geshes who transmit key instructions, the teachers who teach terminology, or the yogis, I know what you practice, but what I practice is unknown to you who lack experience. Potowa (པོ་ཏོ་བ།, Potowa, Potowa) said, 'If you want to understand the Dharma, then practice!' Srepa (སྒྲེ་པ།, Srepa, Srepa) said, 'Rather than spending three years listening to the Dharma, it is better to spend one year practicing, so that there will be greater progress in meditation and wisdom, especially in insight wisdom.' After hearing these teachings, one should rely on a virtuous friend as stable as a mountain, so that meaning can be accomplished. We ourselves must also do this, and we cannot fail to use these teachings. If we cling to objects and signs, we cannot be liberated from samsara. Whether it is a great scholar Pandit, or the abbot of a monastery, or a teacher and a Chakravartin king, they cannot fail to do this, otherwise...
