Meditate. 'Thus it is said. This is the supreme method of confessing downfalls and obscurations: 'When the yogi does not see the confessor, the object of confession, and the act of confession, and completely sees their self-nature as pure, that is the supreme confession.' Thus it is said. The meaning of Mahamudra (Phyag rgya chen po, 大手印) is also being free from the four maras (bdud, 魔): Because this mind has no birth or death, it is free from the mara of the Lord of Death. Because there are no disturbing emotions, it is free from the mara of disturbing emotions. Because it has no form, it is free from the mara of the aggregates. Because there is no attachment, it is free from the mara of the sons of the gods. If one realizes the state of Mahamudra, it is the best of all methods: 'The clear light is continuous, and the city of the bardo (bar do, 中阴) is not seen.' And he said that the transference of consciousness is also that. Again, Rinpoche (Rinpoche, 仁波切) said: 'A great meditator needs four confidences. The confidence of view is that the meaning of the state of all phenomena arises within, so one needs to know that whatever appears to the mind is in that state. The confidence of the power of secret mantra is that having practiced the sadhana (bsnyen pa, 近修) of one's yidam deity, whatever obstacles of the evil spirits arise, one thinks that it is enough to say Phat (phaṭ, 发音). The confidence of the guru's instructions is that one needs to know how to do whatever pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful activities are done.' Thus he said. Homage to the Guru. A person who is disgusted with this life goes to a solitary place, and the guru's instructions are in three clusters: the cluster of channels causes the elements to be balanced; the cluster of winds causes one to be able to meditate on the top of a tree; the cluster of mind causes disturbing emotions not to defile one, and the experience arises from within. Recognizing awareness and experiencing realization are both important. Recognizing awareness is realizing that awareness is without characteristics, free from all extremes of elaboration, and without cessation. Not recognizing awareness is also recognizing awareness and realizing it without doubt.' Thus he said. The friends of ignorance are the five poisons, but it is certain that no one can prevent them from arising as the five wisdoms. Such a mind arising is the accomplishment of the goal. He said that such an experience arising in the lineage will not be mixed up. The Reality of Things is Twofold The great Lama Naropa (Nāropā, 那若巴) said: 'By reciting the seven-letter king of secret mantras a hundred thousand times, the earth shook and prophecies were received. In the east, in the presence of Tilopa (Tilopa, 帝洛巴) himself, the instructions received were the reality of things, the path, and the order of the arising of the fruit. The reality of things is twofold: body and' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To be known in the mind. Therein, the reality of the body abides in the nature of the chakra, and the reality of the mind abides in the inseparability of awareness and emptiness. There are two paths: the path of empowerment that ripens the unripe, and the path of skillful means, the two stages of generation and completion, that liberate the ripened. There are four empowerments: the vase empowerment, the secret empowerment, the wisdom-awareness empowerment, and the precious word empowerment. In the generation stage, according to the Kusulu tradition, there is the instantaneous recollection of completion. It is also the form of the deity, the nature of emptiness, and the essence of the inseparability of clarity and emptiness. In the completion stage, whether one meditates with or without signs, the key points of the body, the key points of the channels, the key points of the place, and the key points of the time are considered the key to the arising of wisdom. There are two key points of the body: the actual key point of the body and the combination of the winds that rely on the body. There are seven actual key points of the body: crossing the feet like a chessboard, straightening the spine like a carpenter's chalk line, maintaining equipoise like the Chinese character '㘝', bending like an iron hook, erecting like a whetstone, twisting like a plum tree, and lowering the eyes to the tip of the nose. There are seven necessities for this: crossing like a chessboard generates heat, straightening like a chalk line causes the winds to enter their own place, maintaining equipoise generates bliss, bending like an iron hook stops thoughts, erecting like a whetstone causes the winds to enter the key points, twisting like a plum tree causes heat to arise quickly, and lowering the eyes to the tip of the nose clarifies the mind. Why wander in samsara? Namo Guru. Rinpoche said: Why wander in samsara? Because of ignorance. Where does ignorance reside? Ignorance resides in emptiness. Ignorance resides in the unseeded ground, and if it meets with good conditions, it becomes a good friend, and if it meets with bad, it turns into bad. Because of the arising of action, ignorance manifests as the nature of action. Action wavers between good and bad. There, consciousness arises, and grasping onto good and bad, one enters into affliction. There, name and form arise, and planting the seeds of habit in name and form, one wanders in samsara. If asked, what is the method of escaping samsara? Relying on the instructions of the precious guru, recognizing ignorance as awareness, name and form manifest as light, so there is no ground for planting the seeds of habit. Action also manifests as light, so one is liberated from cause and effect. Realizing the fruit at the time of the cause, the cause and the fruit are simultaneous, he said.
