Here, there is neither meditation nor meditator. There is neither deity nor mantra. In the nature of non-elaboration, Deity and mantra truly abide. This is spoken in the Hevajra Tantra. There is no Dharma superior to this. Abandoning self-interest, generate the mind of benefiting all sentient beings in whatever you do, and do not be concerned for yourself. If you are empowered to listen to the one Dharma in all ways, then relying on a mind that is disgusted with this life, abandon self-interest, generate the mind of benefiting all sentient beings in whatever you do, and do not be concerned for yourself. Jowo (Atisha) attained Buddhahood by relying on sentient beings. You should generate love and compassion for sentient beings, and think, 'Wouldn't it be wonderful if all sentient beings were free from suffering and possessed of happiness?' and practice in this way. If you wrap yourself up tightly and contemplate, then according to the system of Mahamudra, you must practice the three faultless ones: being free from the fault of appearance, being free from the fault of emptiness, and being free from the fault of arising. You must practice these three. How should you practice them? Being free from the fault of appearance means practicing without grasping appearance as true. You should practice appearance as being like a dream or illusion. You should practice appearance as being without inherent existence. By knowing that appearance is untrue, you will come to know that suffering is untrue. As long as suffering has not become your own continuum, the Dharma has become the Dharma. As soon as you know that all appearances of self and others are untrue, it is called being free from the fault of appearance. Being free from the fault of emptiness means being free from attachment to emptiness. If you think, 'It is emptiness, I should realize emptiness,' and attachment to emptiness arises, it is a mistake. Therefore, knowing that disturbing emotions and thoughts are empty, and knowing that the place where suffering arises is emptiness, and remaining without arising, it is said to be free from the fault of emptiness. Being free from the fault of arising means that appearance and emptiness have not become alternating states. Knowing that appearance is unborn and emptiness is also unborn is called being free from the fault of arising. That itself is also called being free from the knowledge of duality. In reality, being free from the fault of appearance means being free from attachment to the extreme of appearance; being free from the fault of emptiness also means being free from attachment to the extreme of emptiness; and being free from the fault of arising means being free from attachment to the extreme of duality. Therefore, according to the tenets of Mahamudra, being free from the fault of appearance, being free from the fault of emptiness... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Free from the faults of arising and ceasing, the three Kayas (bodies of a Buddha) free from faults are the three Kayas of qualities: Free from the faults of appearance, therefore the limit of samsara (cyclic existence) is exhausted, this is the Nirmanakaya (emanation body) of appearance and emptiness; Free from the faults of emptiness, therefore not abiding in the Hearers (Shravakas) and peace, this is the unobstructed Sambhogakaya (enjoyment body); Free from the faults of arising and ceasing, therefore in the desires of the mind, the desires of emptiness are exhausted, this is the unborn Dharmakaya (truth body). Practicing in this way is the view of the great Brahmin Je. There is no other Dharma besides this. One must have single-minded reliance on the Lama (spiritual teacher) and the Three Jewels. If, in all ways, one respectfully requests the teaching of a single Dharma, then when life is not idle, one should urge oneself on with the whip of mindfulness, and have single-minded reliance on the Lama and the Three Jewels. Why? Because life is impermanent. Even if one lives to be a hundred, there is not much time to stay. Therefore, there is no one to show the path except the Lama. All the Buddhas of the three times also became Buddhas by relying on the Lama, so relying on the Lama is very important. 'Before there was a Lama, there was not even the name of becoming a Buddha.' Thus it is said. Therefore, relying on the Lama and listening to whatever he says is very important. One must rely on the Three Jewels, the objects of refuge. For us Dharma practitioners, there is no refuge other than the Three Jewels. If one has genuine faith in the Three Jewels, then there is no doubt that all the needs and desires of this life and the next will arise. After placing one's trust in the Lama and the Three Jewels, In practice, one must combine everything into a whole, according to the system of Aro Yeshe Jungne, appearance is what arises. One must practice in three ways, and what are these three ways? They are these three sentences: What appears, what arises? If one looks at what appears, it arises in various ways. It appears in various ways. If I look at myself, my own mind appears in various ways. My own mind arises in various ways. Both appearance and arising are realized by my own mind. That realization itself is my own mind. Likewise, because it arises from my own mind, that Dharma nature itself arises in various ways. That which appears in various ways is itself my own unborn mind. Making no distinction between appearance and mind, mind itself is appearance, and appearance itself is mind. Therefore, it is the appearance of the mind, and one should meditate knowing one's own mind to be unborn. Whatever feelings arise, meditate on them as the unborn, empty Dharmakaya. Practice the unborn nature of the mind. There is no need to be afraid of appearance, it is one's own mind. Whatever arises, be it bliss, clarity, or non-thought, does not go beyond the essence of the Dharmakaya of the Great Vehicle. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
