If one does not understand that sentient beings are worthy of compassion, then, according to the teachings of Lama Atisha, one should cultivate the state of no meditator, no meditation, beyond elaboration, and without coming and going. Loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta arise in three ways, therefore, there is no practice superior to this. If one teaches a single Dharma in all aspects, then we must now sever the ties of this life, maintain unwavering pure faith, and then practicing any Dharma will be most profound. Do not commit any evil deeds in the footprint of a water drop, practice perfect virtue, and tame your own mind. This is the teaching of the Buddha. The Buddha said that on the basis of not committing any evil deeds, one should practice perfect virtue, and then tame one's own mind. Taming one's own mind is practicing the Buddha's teaching. It is permissible to practice only this one Dharma. (Transcendent Wisdom)》 says: 'Since all things are impermanent, one should cultivate the notion of non-attachment to anything. If one realizes the mind, that is wisdom, therefore one should cultivate the notion of not seeking the Buddha elsewhere.' Because things are impermanent, the inner consciousness changes, so it is impermanent. External appearances, such as age, friends, siblings, spouses, family, wealth, and so on, are all impermanent. One should not cling to anything as true, and one should practice in this way. One's own body is also a loan of the four elements, so it is impermanent. It is easy to lose what is borrowed. Therefore, all things are impermanent, and one should not be attached to anything. Realizing the mind is wisdom, which refers to realizing the nature of the mind itself, knowing that self and other, appearance and emptiness, ultimate and relative, realm and wisdom, are all inseparable. Such a meaning cannot be found by searching elsewhere, but by observing one's own mind. Realization is called Buddha, as the scripture says: 'Unseen and seen, therefore it is called Joyful.' Therefore, realizing one's own mind is called Buddha. One has not seen one's own mind before, but now one sees it. It arises from realizing one's own mind, so do not seek the Buddha elsewhere. Similarly, abandoning all the concerns of this life, if one practices in this way, one will achieve success no matter which Dharma door one enters. Therefore, it is important to abandon the efforts of this life and practice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If one preaches Dharma while still thinking about worldly affairs, that person will become a 'black person' who only knows how to talk about Dharma history. Therefore, it is very important to practice without mixing in worldly thoughts. There is no other way besides the Dharma. We, those who sincerely practice Dharma, need to contemplate from time to time. If you all request me to teach a general Dharma, then we, those who sincerely practice Dharma, need to contemplate from time to time. As the scripture says: 'This life is short, the knowledge to be learned is vast, and the length of life is unknown. One should choose what one likes, like a swan taking milk from water.' Life is short, and there is not much time to waste. Starting from the Four Great Kings Heaven up to Akanishta (Ogmin). If counting from hell, life is even shorter. Among these, the people of Jambudvipa (the world we live in) have the shortest lifespan. And among the people of Jambudvipa, those who are now over sixty years old are consuming their remaining life. Life is short, but there is much knowledge to be learned, and learning knowledge has no end. In Dharma, the least is like the water sprinkling ritual of 'Khawar Ma' (phonetic translation). It is said that if all the 'Khawar Ma' rituals that can be found are written down, they can fill a large central Magina (phonetic translation) box. From this, it can be seen that there is no end to learning knowledge. The least 'Khawar Ma' ritual is already like this, let alone other Dharmas. Therefore, learning knowledge has no end and cannot be learned completely, so one should choose what one likes, like a swan taking milk from water. For example, the Ganges River in India is mixed with milk, and the swan filters the water with its sour beak, and then only eats the milk in the water. Similarly, we must also choose the teachings that we like from various knowledge. The purpose of practicing these teachings is to control one's own mind and make the mind workable. For those who like the generation stage and the completion stage, they must make their minds workable for the generation stage and the completion stage. Whether it is practicing the energy channels and drops, or talking about ultimate truth and conventional truth, whether it is Mahamudra or Dzogchen, the purpose of all these is to make the mind workable. So, what is a workable mind like? It is to understand the Dharma nature of the mind, naturally generate compassion, or realize the equality of self and others. It is to reduce attachment to phenomena. Before reaching this state, one must practice diligently. If one observes from the perspective of Svatantrika (a term in Tibetan Buddhism, referring to Madhyamaka Svatantrika), it is very difficult to be reborn in a good realm by merely cutting off self-grasping. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
