Arising in dependence. In the realm beyond the supreme, there isn't even the name 'Buddha.' Therefore, we should rely on a qualified Lama, offer our body, possessions, and all the merits accumulated in the three times to the Lama, and dedicate all the merits of the three times arising from this, together with Jowo (Tibetan: ཇོ་བོ, referring to the most venerable one) and all sentient beings, and generate Bodhicitta. Whatever faith and devotion arise towards the Lama and the Three Jewels, one should visualize them without any selfishness for the benefit of sentient beings. It is crucial that all the virtuous deeds done by body, speech, and mind are held by the wisdom of non-objectification. If one does not fixate on any Dharma, that is Samadhi. Whatever one clings to, and for however long one clings to it, that is single-pointed concentration. If one goes to non-objectification, that is freedom from elaboration. Whatever appears, knowing it as mind, that is one taste. If practice is continuous, that is Yoga without practice. Practicing in this way accomplishes both self-benefit and the benefit of others; there is no Dharma better than this. One must practice the union of the three Yogas. To the great practitioners, I have a Dharma to impart: In our current situation, life is impermanent and short. Therefore, one should generate the wisdom of the Mahayana. When practicing the Dharma, if one can integrate all the essential points, one must practice the union of the three Yogas. These are Mantra Yoga, Material Yoga, and Dharma Yoga. As it is said in the Hevajra Tantra: 'Mantra, materials, and Dharma, when these three Yogas are perfected, there is no need to remain in Samsara.' Mantra Yoga refers to the yogi who enters the door of activities such as the generation stage and completion stage. If one meditates on oneself as the deity, that is the generation stage. Knowing the deity to be like a water moon, illusion, or rainbow, that is the completion stage. Meditating on the union of the generation and completion stages in this way perfects the two accumulations, and one becomes a Buddha through that. Merely meditating on the generation stage alone also blocks the door to the lower realms. Practicing in this way is the discipline of Mantra; it is Mantra Yoga. Material Yoga refers to knowing all wealth and possessions to be like dreams and illusions. Practicing in this way eliminates the clinging to reality in appearances, and one progresses towards enlightenment. By the power of knowing dreams and illusions, one reaches the level of a Pratyekabuddha and a Bodhisattva. As it is said in the scriptures: 'For all phenomena that are like illusions, practicing them as illusions,' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thus, one attains Buddhahood. Therefore, it is said. What is Dharma Yoga? It is realizing all Dharmas as being like a pure mandala of space, realizing that self and other, being and non-being, and all else are of equal nature. As the scripture says: 'For Dharmas that are like space, meditate on them as being like space, and also attain Buddhahood like space.' Thus, one practices the three yogas. If one is inclined towards the activities of the two stages of generation and completion of mantra, then one engages in Mantra Yoga. If one is comfortable with substance yoga, then one meditates on the instructions of dream and illusion. If one is inclined towards Dharma Yoga, then one meditates on all Dharmas as being like a mandala of space. So, how does one meditate on all three yogas simultaneously? First, meditate on the generation and completion stages. Then, in the four activities or favorable circumstances, meditate as if in a dream or illusion. Whatever is done, leave all traces without conceptualizing them, like a mandala of aimless space. By practicing in this way, all the benefits of oneself and others will be accomplished. Thus it is said. Practice accordingly. There is no other Dharma than this. It is crucial to abandon the ten non-virtuous actions and cultivate the ten virtuous actions. In all circumstances, in order to hear even one phrase of the Dharma, I will dedicate myself to the Dharma. Now, in this opportune body, having obtained a human body, complete with the five faculties, born in a place where the Dharma flourishes, this is due to the merit accumulated in previous lives. In this body, not afflicted by sudden death or disease, one must practice the Dharma. And in practicing the Dharma, it is crucial to abandon the ten non-virtuous actions and cultivate the ten virtuous actions. Abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions means abandoning the three non-virtuous actions of the body, the four of speech, and the three of mind. Practicing the ten virtuous actions means, on the basis of abandoning killing, striving to save lives; on the basis of abandoning taking what is not given, striving to give; on the basis of abandoning sexual misconduct, guarding the vows of celibacy. In terms of speech, on the basis of abandoning lying, expounding the Dharma. Slander has three aspects: forceful slander, biased slander, and revealing secrets. Forceful slander means intervening between two people to create conflict; biased slander means using methods to divide; revealing secrets means exposing the secrets of others. On the basis of abandoning these three types of slander, speaking gently. On the basis of abandoning idle talk, maintaining silence. On the basis of abandoning covetousness, rejoicing in the accomplishments of others. On the basis of abandoning harmful intent, striving to benefit others. On the basis of abandoning wrong views, confessing the sins committed and rejoicing in the virtuous deeds done. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
