Therefore, there is no meditation, and no meditator.' Thus it is said, because there is nothing that 'this is the object to be meditated upon,' therefore earnestly practicing the true nature is called meditation. Practice in the same way, there is no more supreme Dharma than this. To attain Buddhahood, one needs complete and unerring causes. If we were to request to hear a single Dharma in all ways, then in this present time, life is as fleeting as a flash of lightning. When one obtains the leisure and endowments, if one does not seize the path to enlightenment, one will die. Therefore, to attain Buddhahood, one needs complete and unerring causes, because Buddhahood does not arise from no cause, wrong causes, or deficient causes. That is, Buddhahood does not arise from not accumulating the two accumulations, as well as the views, meditations, and practices of non-Buddhists, and the Dharmas of the Lesser Vehicle, the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. Then, why is it that one does not attain Buddhahood through the Dharmas of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers? Because they do not generate the mind for the benefit of sentient beings, but only wish to attain peaceful Nirvana for themselves, and do not aim at benefiting others, therefore they cannot attain omniscience. Then, to attain Buddhahood, how should one practice? Do not fall into the extreme of having no cause, and practice; do not practice with the wrong path or the inferior path. When practicing in this way, for what one cannot give up, one should cut off attachments as if stepping on a threshold, dispel clinging, recognize faults, expose errors from the root, and transform all suffering and happiness into the path. Among these, first, 'for what one cannot give up, one should step on it like a threshold,' which means that for whatever one is attached to, whether it is shame or whatever, one should let go of it at will. Then, 'cut off attachments,' which means that everything, such as children, wealth, and land, should be seen as like dreams and illusions, impermanent and untrue, and without inherent existence. It is very important to think this way. Then, 'dispel clinging,' as the scripture says: 'Whatever you are attached to, let it go.' Therefore, all attachments should be abandoned and let go. 'Recognize faults,' which means to view the three poisons as faults, thereby abandoning the fault of self-grasping. 'Expose errors from the root,' which means that because the three poisons may cause one to wander in the three lower realms, one should expose the root of all errors from the ground up. After abandoning these, one should have the intention of the Great Vehicle, and hold all sentient beings with loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, wishing that all sentient beings may be happy, free from suffering, and attain perfect enlightenment, and keep such a wish deep in one's heart, and use one's body, speech, and mind for virtuous deeds. Therefore, when getting up from bed in the morning, one should think: Today, for the benefit of all sentient beings, I will use my body, speech, and mind for virtuous deeds. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is very important to cultivate a mindset that one should utilize death (for practice). If done so, whatever is done during that day will turn into virtue because of the good motivation. Because all Dharmas mainly rely on motivation to transform, generally speaking, good motivation is very important. Whatever is done will turn into virtue. If the motivation is bad, it will turn into sin. Good motivation is like a good inner servant. Therefore, when going to sleep at night, it is very important that body, speech, and mind all act virtuously for the benefit of sentient beings. If done so, whatever is done will grasp the direction of the path because of the power of virtue. Therefore, good motivation is very important. By generating motivation in this way, for all joys and sorrows, and for this life and future lives, one should turn away from this life and integrate the practice into the nature of Dharmakaya (法身) without hesitation. There is no other Dharma besides this! In any case, if one can hear a single Dharma, then we must now turn away from this life and integrate the practice into it without hesitation. Keep the thought that nothing is needed deep in your heart, and then practice. When practicing, one needs to practice the four yogas. These four yogas are: first, one-pointed yoga; second, yoga free from elaboration; third, unity in diversity yoga; and fourth, no-practice yoga. Among these four yogas, the first is one-pointed yoga: first, fix the mind on any object of focus, as if tying it with a rope. This is a way to recognize how one wants to meditate. If one can keep the mind from wandering on one object, then the meaning of freedom from elaboration will appear. When one recognizes that all phenomena are free from the characteristics of elaboration, everything previously heard and contemplated becomes like an outer shell, and a state of non-attachment arises in the mind. At that time, one should pray to the Lama (Guru), make offerings to the Three Jewels, watch and listen to profound Dharma, and show one's realization. At the time of such realization, one may feel that there is nothing to practice now, because there is no Lama, Three Jewels, and Yidam (本尊), and no practice and no accomplished Siddhi (成就). At that time, one may lose devotion to the Lama, and there is a danger of being disturbed by obstructing demons. One should pray strongly to the Lama, make offerings to the Three Jewels and Yidam, practice impartial compassion, and it is very important to be humble. If devotion changes, then experience will also change. Because one will encounter obstacles, one should continuously maintain devotion to the Lama. Because experience and realization depend on devotion, (one should follow the correct) path. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
