The body aspect of severance. Through the appearance of the exhaustion of reality, one obtains the result of the Great Perfection, free from effort. Having perfected these four in this way, Nirvana is not to be sought elsewhere. Thus it is said, and these are the four: the appearance of directly perceiving reality, the appearance of increasing experience, the appearance of the measure of awareness, and the appearance of the exhaustion of reality. First, the appearance of directly perceiving reality is: Eye and awareness, the three skies, gather together at one time, and one sees the state of thorough transparency. Thus it is said. "Directly" means that the nature of reality itself seems to be, or does not depend on mental speculation, does not rely on words and letters, but is established within the scope of sensory experience. It is seeing without being defiled by any experience or realization. "Measure" means that awareness itself does not rely on examples, is not transmitted, and is established directly relying on permanence. It is the key point of the above way of seeing. When the lama introduces it, at the space between one's eyebrows, what is called the lamp of the pure realm of space is like a rainbow in the sky. It appears like the luster of a peacock's tail. Within that, there is what is called the lamp of thigle. It is like throwing a stone into a circle of water, or like a bubble in a gourd, appearing the size of a mustard seed or a bean. Within that, one's own awareness, what is called the vajra chain, is thin, like a knot tied in a horse's tail. It is like pearls strung on a stem, or like a stretched iron chain, or like a flower net, half a net, like the movement of the wind, one connected to two, two connected to three, and so on. That is one's own essence, what is called the single thigle. That is also the indivisibility of space and awareness, abiding in the manner of the sun and moon and their rays. That is also the sign of space, light and light clusters. The sign of wisdom is thigle. The sign of the body is the chain. That is also as it is said in the Longsal: The method of showing that direct perception, when the lama introduces it according to the scriptures, a lamp shines on the distant target. The appearance of objects is clear in its own radiance. That very lamp of wisdom cuts off the additions of the speculative vehicle. Actually, the lamp of thigle shines, and samsara and nirvana are liberated in thorough transparency. The lamp of pure space, the appearance of experience increases. For the lamps in the objects, the path appearance, aware

Pālu lineage. The path's radiance spontaneously accomplishes the five fruits. The path appears clearly in the power of compassion. Thus, in the direct perception of power, anyone who habituates will attain Buddhahood. What is called the "Distant Lasso Water Lamp" refers to the two eyes. As stated earlier: The two eyes fix on the space between the eyebrows, uttering "Ha" without wavering. Body, speech, and mind are integrated into one. The benefit of doing so is: all deluded perceptions are abandoned, the experience of indivisibility of space and awareness arises, and direct experience is realized on its own. So it is said. Furthermore, the "Distant Lasso Water Lamp," which distinguishes between black and white and arises as the nature of water, refers to the clarity of the eyes. From the "Burning Lamp": The distant lasso water lamp holds the three views. The definition of this is: Therein, "distant" is the extension of the distant path, holding the appearance of form, collecting colors, etc., and the body of awareness is also distant, the seer holds. "Lasso" means to grasp from afar. Just as the sky is free from clouds, awareness appears as a selfless body, not allowing appearances to scatter outward, therefore it holds it, hence it is called "lasso." "Water" refers to those appearances, if attachment returns to its own place, then there is no attachment to anything, placing appearances in their own place, this is called "water" free from self-grasping. "Lamp" refers to all self-aware appearances, increasing from above to above, awareness is the bright lamp of wisdom. By generating this appearance of experience, emptiness and awareness merge indivisibly. It is also the clarity of all senses, the door of appearance is the eye, therefore it is called the basis of all. There are these distinctions between "Distant Lasso Water Lamp," "Distant Lasso of Wisdom Assembly," and "Distant Lasso of Sense Assembly." The clear eye-door of the senses, where appearance is unobstructed, arises in the lotus eye. This is its characteristic. The place here is the eye, with unobstructed seeing, it holds all objects. This is the manner of abiding, etc., as described in the "Burning Lamp." Relying on such a lamp, the lamp of empty bindus appears like the radiance of a peacock feather. Its radiance is the utterly pure lamp of space, the letter is Nā Ro.
