If one does not examine the going up and down, it will not be apparent. If one examines, one will see many phenomena of people and livestock, men and women, going up and down. Just as in muddy water one cannot see images, insects, etc., but when it is slightly clear, images appear. The nature of the mind is also like this; if one does not examine it, one will not explain these natures, and when a slight confusion arises in the mind, one can see that this is virtue, this is non-virtue, this is what has not been declared, this is the beginning, and when the final and intermediate conceptualizations are occupied by delusion, one can find non-conceptualization. Moreover, the initial abiding is like the flowing water on a steep mountain, flowing roughly and noisily. The middle is like a large river flowing slowly. The final is like a small stream merging into the ocean, abiding in the samadhi of quiescence. Quiescence is divided into two types: with flaws and without flaws. Quiescence with flaws is like being dull, ignorant, and suppressed by sleep and drowsiness. Dullness and sluggishness have the same cause, and one must tighten awareness and apply clarity to eliminate them. For those whose awareness is scattered and wandering, one must relax both body and mind. Look at the relaxation of letting go with a peaceful view. This mind bound by ropes, through relaxation, attains liberation. What the fool binds, the wise completely liberate. Thus, according to the states of excitement and sinking, adjust tightening and loosening accordingly. Good experiences are the feeling of bliss, clarity, non-conceptual awareness, as well as the experience of appearance, the experience of seeing, the experience of emptiness, and various experiences appearing as above, but the various experiences are the magical manifestations of the mind, just as the lord of the sky shows various scenes, various plants grow on the summer meadow, and various phenomena appear in the yogi's experience. Do not be attached to or crave good experiences; one needs to realize that the power and play of the mind are unreal. Just as the Song of Realization of the Pig Woman says: Look at your own mind! The nature of mind does not establish anything. In the nature of mind that does not establish anything, various appearances are very wonderful. Merely appearing, it merges into the mind. The mind-nature of all sentient beings, the yogi cannot conceive, does not conceptualize. It appears as the nature of clarity. Like this, the objects of external appearance and the clinging to internal experiences are all mind. Therefore, the scriptures say: Mind is the seed of all things, the cessation of suffering and the continuation of samsara, is desire.

That which bestows fruits, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, to that mind I prostrate! Thus it is said. The great Brahmin Saraha said: The mind that is the root of all samsara and nirvana, if realized, there is no need to meditate, rest in the natural state. To rest in oneself but seek elsewhere, how sad! There is no such thing as this or that, the natural state. Thus it is said. Hevajra says: The nature is primordially unborn, neither true nor false, it is just like that. All are like the moon in the water, the certainty of the yoga of desire arises. Thus it is said. For any manifestation of experience, there should be no expectation, doubt, or attachment. If attachment to existence or non-existence arises, it is a wrong path. The third part has two aspects: introduction and cutting off wrong paths. The first part is: Thus, by diligently studying the instructions of the three inner, outer, and secret teachings without weariness, merely knowing all dharmas to be emptiness, merely realizing the nature of mind to be emptiness, one cannot realize the ultimate meaning. Therefore, one must repeatedly practice and introduce the great non-dual union, beyond mind. The sutra says: Profound instructions must be accompanied by introduction. Introduction must also be accompanied by practice. Oral instructions must also be accompanied by experience. Experience must also be related to benefiting others. For the students who follow, the root of the wisdom of reality, such as the place of arising, dwelling, and going, must be thoroughly cut off and summarized, thereby becoming skilled in means. The sutra says: The three realms are only mind. Therefore, pretending that the mind exists, let the beginners repeatedly examine it, and by gradually submitting realizations, the superior faculties will know their own face and make a decision. For others, adjust the instructions according to their learning, realization, and capacity, and take all obstacles, purifications, good and bad experiences into the path, and make them essential. If everything is integrated into the mind and a decision is made, then it is the appropriate time for introduction. If it is not like that, even if introduced, it will not be helpful, just as one cannot say the name of a person one has not seen, and one cannot convey the meaning of a word one has not seen. To introduce to someone who has not practiced is like describing something in the dark, one cannot understand its meaning. When the time is right, introduce it, but if the introduction is about good, bad, high, or low experiences, then it will become a manifestation of experience, resulting in uncertain experiences of various kinds.
