The goer has no real meaning. If there is one and it goes, then the nature of the goer goes to the differences of gods and humans. Entering the earth, flying in the sky, going like the form of the six kinds of beings. How the signs, colors, sizes go, one should observe well. This is an important instruction for searching for the mind, so one should be diligent and constantly strive to observe day and night. Searching for the mind of the mind, subduing the mind of the mind, searching for the faults of the mind, destroying the house of the mind, collapsing the false hole of the mind. Like truth and falsehood in court, tracing back to the source. Like a spear tip against the roof, like a thread through the eye of a needle. One should carefully examine the nature of the mind. Thus, subduing the mind with the mind, like breaking stone with stone, like cutting iron with iron, like burning all the wood with the fire of wood, like washing dirt with dirt, like showing purity with purity, like curing alcohol sickness with alcohol, like curing poison sickness with poison. Knowledge is subdued by the similar. Each one's enemy is done by each one. Thus, one should repeatedly examine the mind. Although examining the mind of the goer, one does not see the goer having such color and form. One does not find certainty that one has gone to the place one has gone before in this way. That place also does not arise outward. Except for the scattered and confused thoughts of oneself, there is nothing to be recognized. Therefore, the Secret Tantra of Kuntuzangmo, the Blazing Sun of Clear Space, says: All the thoughts of meditating like that, all arise from body and mind. Decide well, gather into the mind. Thus, when all are gathered into the mind and examined, the dweller is the mind, the goer is also the mind, the seer is the mind. The doer of all is the mind itself. Therefore, one should cut its root. Is this mind existent or non-existent? Are both or neither? Is it one or many, one should examine carefully. If all is done by the mind, then the sound of the ear, the form of the eye, the smell of the nose, the taste of the tongue, the touch of the body, if these are all done by one mind, then there should be no deaf, blind, mute, etc., therefore. If they each do it separately, then at the time of death, all the senses are complete in the corpse. One should examine these natures well.

When the mind is not seen as color, object, or characteristic, the scriptures say: For the sake of seeing the unseen, is the path of seeing. Not seeing anything, that is seeing. Also, in 'The Clear Expanse' it says: How to examine this body without mind? Like a wall, it is also determined. How to examine this mind without body? It also grasps the direction in the wind and sky. Once it is determined as mind, then connect all thoughts to the mind, and unite the mind and thoughts as one. So it is said. Second, cutting the root is: Also, one should abide in the samadhi of calm abiding. In 'Engaging in Bodhisattva Activities' it says: For the sake of pacifying thoughts, one should cultivate bodhicitta. Also, in 'The Tantra of Vajra Garland' it says: Even the eighty-four thousand doors of Dharma, all gather in bodhicitta. Therefore, with the body in the seven-point posture of Vairochana, the mind should not be adjusted, nor should it be rejected or established, but should be naturally relaxed. When the mind seems to be scattered in the objects of the six consciousnesses, do not reject or establish, but continuously relax. When the inner awareness abides in its own place, then let it naturally abide. Stare at the essence of awareness, and remain still. Tightly contract, then loosen. Abide in a balanced state of contraction and relaxation. When abiding in this way, thoughts will not flow, past, future, and present thoughts will not control you, but observe the essence of thoughts, and let it naturally pacify, this is the key. Also, in praising Manjushri of Dharmakirti it says: Thoughts are great ignorance, the cause of falling into the ocean of samsara. Because of being free from thoughts, you are always beyond suffering. So it is said. Therefore, although we have always been accompanied by the primordially pure reality that has always been there, we do not recognize it. Although we have always been with it, we have never cut its root. Because we have been controlled by these great afflictive thoughts, now we must pacify thoughts. To pacify thoughts, it is not to abandon by abandoning, but to abandon by practice. Therefore, body, speech, and mind should be single-pointed and undistracted, rely on antidotes, and maintain the continuity of mindfulness like the flow of a river to the ocean. Stare at the essence of any arising thought, and it will naturally pacify, like pouring water into a boiling pot. Thoughts should be destroyed. That is, thoughts and
