There will be no disputes. Even when on the same boat, one should maintain the thought of parting, not fight, and be joyful. Leaving others aside, consider your own parents, spouse, livestock, dogs, and utensils that have gathered in one house throughout your life. At that time, it always seemed the same, holding on, fighting, and arguing, but where are they now? None are together; some have died, some have left, some remain, and some have separated. Therefore, wherever you live, whoever you associate with, whatever you do, keep the thought of parting in mind, do not fight with anyone, do not harm, and strive to do good. From the collection on impermanence: Since all that gathers will separate, one should not trust anything. Towards beings and oneself, be without attachment or clinging. It is said. Furthermore, one should possess abundant enjoyment and wealth. As it was said before: Like villages that have become empty and desolate, accumulations will be exhausted, and wealth is impermanent and meaningless for anything, so do not be attached. Thinking about your own early and middle life, and the empty old villages from before, in these places there was wealth, comfort, happiness, and delightful enjoyment, but in the end, they became like this. My wealth, houses, and possessions cannot surpass this either. Moreover, since they cannot surpass this, my wealth and possessions will also be abandoned. I abandon them, and they abandon me. Therefore, while I have autonomy, I should use these for Dharma purposes. Thinking that by using them for Dharma purposes, liberation will surely be achieved, one should take essence from the meaningless, fluctuating enjoyments. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: By abandoning everything, one transcends sorrow. My mind seeks to transcend sorrow. Simultaneously giving everything to sentient beings is supreme. It is said. Since one comes without the right to use any possessions, now that one has the right to use them, if one uses them for virtuous deeds, one will gain greater merit. At the time of death, having others do it as if making a will has little benefit. When falling at the edge of the bed, if others do not agree on the distribution of one's possessions, it becomes the root of sin. Therefore, those who have renounced and are mindful of the Dharma should first train in reducing their own desires at the beginning of their practice. The previous teachers

As stated by those with faith: If desire is small, it is the lineage of the noble ones; if desire is exhausted, it is the actual noble one. Therefore, one should always train in having few desires. Just as it is said above. Due to change and impermanence, one should also generate renunciation. The instruction on this is: From the Treasury of Wish-Fulfilling Jewels: With the wealth of heavenly cities as visible examples, and with the example of falling into the lower realms after death, when wealthy, do not be arrogant and conceited. As it is said, having enjoyed the bliss of the gods, one falls into hell; having obtained the status of a wheel-turning monarch, one is born as a slave again; having obtained the joy of gods and humans, one falls into the lower realms, and so forth. Thinking about these, do not be arrogant and conceited about your own slight wealth, but rather, solely maintain the awareness of impermanence. The teacher Nagarjuna said: Those who have perfected meditation, such as Brahma, without seeing the habitual tendencies of self and permanence, will undoubtedly be born in hell after death. And, even having become a wheel-turning monarch, one will eventually fall to the ground again, and in samsara, one will be born as a slave again. Thus it is said. Regarding abandoning pride, in the worldly treatise called "A Drop to Nourish Beings": From those who seek liberation, the pull of karma is far-reaching, and various kinds of happiness and suffering are just beginning to arise. When wealthy, do not be arrogant, and when impoverished, do not be discouraged. Thus it is said. Therefore, even in this life, think about the changes such as the first half of life being happy and the second half being painful. Wealth is by nature prone to decline, youth is by nature impermanent, and friends and relatives are by nature prone to separation. Knowing that everything is unreliable, generate renunciation towards impermanence. In the Extensive Play Sutra: These qualities of desire are like the moon in water, like reflections and echoes in a valley, like illusions and watching dances; know that they are like dreams. In the Nirvana Sutra: If there is prosperity, there is decline; if there is assembly, there will be separation; youth is also impermanent; even the color of prosperity is robbed by disease; there is nothing that is permanent. In the Sutra Requested by the Naga King of the Ocean: All wealth will ultimately decline; the enjoyments and power of kings are also impermanent. And, the appearance of the container and its contents
