If there is leisure time, one should sincerely and definitely contemplate why fields, houses, lands, material possessions, relatives, and this body of flesh and blood, which is the result of karma and is like a pile of bubbles and its adornments, will not perish. As it is said in the Sutra of the Lesser Nirvana, "Conditioned things are constantly changing; a place of stability cannot be found." And as it is said in the King of Samadhi Sutra, "When this world arises, and having arisen, it decays and this world ceases, just as before, so it will be later; know that all things are like that." In the Treasury of Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, it says, "In a precious palace adorned with the four continents, even if the appearance of a beautiful land is well arranged, it will be destroyed without even a fragment of dust remaining; look at it becoming a nature of nothingness! The body and enjoyments that are taken close, and all the appearances of this life, all are impermanent, illusory in nature, and will deceive you. No matter how you think about it, there is no essence; no matter how you think about it, it will not be beneficial. Diminish your attachment and aversion to samsara, and from today, enter the treasury of the sacred Dharma!" Therefore, look at these appearing objects! All that is accumulated is impermanent and will be exhausted; that which appears high will be impermanent and will fall; all that prospers is impermanent and will decline; all that gathers is impermanent and will separate; all that is good is impermanent and will become bad; all that lives is impermanent and will die. Think in this way, and apply the impermanence of your own body, enjoyments, and all appearances inwardly. In the Vinaya Sutra, it says, "The end of all accumulation is exhaustion; the end of eminence is falling; the end of birth is death; the end of gathering is separation." In the Extensive Play Sutra, it says, "All conditioned things are of the nature of decay, like a dewdrop in summer, or like sand on a riverbank; dependent on conditions, they change and are very fragile." Therefore, correct the mistaken notion of grasping illusion as truth, and closely establish the awareness that whatever appears is impermanent and without essence. The following is advice to generate renunciation from the impermanence of moving, insubstantial sentient beings: In the Treasury of Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, it says, "All these beings walking on the earth now

. Within a hundred years, things will definitely change. All beings die in succession, so think about how my own life is also heading towards death. Thus, in Jambudvipa, life expectancy is uncertain. Among them, fifty years have already passed, so life is short. These beings that appear on the earth now, such as humans and animals, will all definitely die within the current hundred years. Therefore, one must abandon the mind of clinging to permanence and diligently practice the supreme Dharma from the depths of one's heart. Furthermore, all sentient beings included in the three realms and six classes, having taken bodies according to their respective karmas, whether they are large, small, happy, suffering, virtuous, non-virtuous, prosperous, declining, high, low, etc., all appearances of good and bad, even if they live for an eon, will eventually die; even if they are short-lived for only a moment, they will eventually die; even if they are intermediate and live for months and years, they will eventually die. As it is said in the Nirvana Sutra: "All things in the world, if there is birth, there is death; if there is gathering, there is separation; even if life lasts for countless eons, it should be known that it will eventually end." Thus, all sentient beings are impermanent and changing, and if I alone hope to be permanent and unchanging, then that is losing mindfulness. Therefore, one should think that one will definitely die, and not trust anything, and cultivate the concept of non-attachment. As it is said in the Ada Ka Yeshe: "All conditioned phenomena are of the nature of impermanence, so one should diligently cultivate the concept of non-attachment to anything." Thus it is said. Thinking about various metaphors to show impermanence: As mentioned earlier: "In marketplaces, crossroads, inns, and other places, people from all directions gather and separate, so from the depths of your heart, think about how gathering will inevitably lead to separation." Just like the many places where people gather for buying and selling, the crossroads of roads, and inns, etc., all the many people who gather there, although they seem to be the same forever for a while, quickly separate in their respective directions, just like now, I and enemies, friends, and intermediate beings gather in one place, or seeing them gathered together, one should think that all of this is impermanent. One's own parents, relatives, benefactors, teachers, friends, siblings, etc., no matter where they gather together, while they are there, they should not fight each other, should not harm each other, should not speak ill of each other, should not scold each other, and when separating,
