With characteristics. If I were a great practitioner, that would not be right. Do not say that there is nothing to do with the Dharma and spend your time leisurely, and do not always like to sleep. You should be diligent in prostrations, circumambulations, reciting sutras, chanting mantras, meditation, offering to the Three Jewels, and so on. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by the Boy Phenomenon: "All happiness and joy in the world arise from offering to the Three Jewels. Therefore, one should always be diligent in offering to the Three Jewels." Even offering a cup of water or a grain of rice is an offering. Believe that the Three Jewels also reside in the external environment. Furthermore, regarding the different types of virtuous deeds, such as the ten practices; regarding the different times of practice, such as moments, instants, years, months, and so on; regarding the different essences of what is to be done, such as with characteristics and without characteristics; regarding the different methods of practice, such as easy and difficult; regarding the different places of practice, such as solitary places and non-solitary places, one should cultivate all these virtuous deeds without choice, contentment, or discrimination between good and bad. Just as a rich person can turn anything into wealth, a yogi can turn anything into Dharma, so be diligent. Whether with characteristics or without characteristics also depends on one's own mind. If the mind is attached, even if one meditates on emptiness, one will be bound by the characteristics of emptiness. If the mind is vast, even if one performs prostrations and offerings, one will realize the nature of groundless illusion, thus becoming a companion to the Dharma nature. Therefore, one should always spend time with virtuous deeds. Now, because of the thought of the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, it is said: In the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury: For its benefit, give up this life! For the meaning of the next life, let diligence burn like fire. Without wasting leisure, spend time with virtuous deeds, and quickly cross to the other shore of the ocean of the three realms. Thus, day and night, thinking about the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, if one summarizes its immeasurable benefits, it is: Recognizing that all actions in this life are meaningless, therefore not doing them; accepting the wishes of the next life, therefore acting in a way that does not contradict cause and effect; constantly striving with diligence burning like fire in the meaning of hearing, thinking, and meditating; abandoning evil friends and constantly practicing virtue, therefore oneself abiding in virtue; abandoning the desire for samsara and not wasting leisure, therefore being filled with joy at the time of death; untying the knot of miserliness

From the path of generosity and liberation, wherever one is born, they are free from poverty. Because they are always content, they are not attached to wealth. The three doors (body, speech, and mind) are in accordance with the Dharma. Because nothing has essence, one realizes that actions are meaningless, and the bonds of attachment are severed. Knowing that everything passes away, there is no pain of strife, and goodness arises from the depths of one's being. Seeing that nothing needs to be done, the walls of conformity crumble. The mountain of the eight worldly concerns collapses. Having grasped the path to liberation, one practices the true Dharma properly and quickly attains Buddhahood. Secondly, encouraging reflection on impermanence through examples. The manner of explanation is as follows: From the Treasury of the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel: Even if this hard-to-find leisure is obtained, it is momentary, impermanent, and of the nature of destruction. The three realms, being of an illusory nature, will deceive. Thus it is said. This leisure and opportunity, obtained through the power of previous good deeds, is like a rare occurrence on a wide road. Even if obtained, it is not reliable, as one will inevitably die soon. In the words on impermanence, it says: Thus, for all who are born, death stands before them. I too am not exempt from it, so today accumulate Dharma treasures. Wherever one is born in the three realms and six classes of beings, all are submerged in the river of birth and death. The waves of suffering are great and turbulent. They are seized by the demon of impermanence. In the Extensive Play it says: The three realms are impermanent like autumn clouds. Beings wander like the moon in water. The life of a person passes like a waterfall from a steep cliff. All perceptions are like watching a dance. Now, expanding on the nature of impermanence, identifying the nature of what is impermanent: From the Treasury of the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel: Thus, this vessel-world adorned with the wealth of the four continents is an example of impermanence and destruction. Know also that the body is like a bubble or a blister. The various phenomena that appear temporarily and roughly are the vessel-world. In general, it is equal to the limit of space. Specifically, this world, adorned with the wealth of Mount Meru and the four continents, appearing as the realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds, is also impermanent in its subtle aspects, changing with time as it diminishes from the beginning of the kalpa. This roughly appearing world will eventually disappear and become one space.
