Bless! Please bless that the realization of the profound path may arise in the continuum! Thus, with unbearable longing of devotion, generate tears. Then, the Lama says: "I pray to the Dharmakaya Samantabhadra! Please bless that the experience and realization of the profound path may arise in the continuum!" After the blessings descend through the lineage supplication, the Lama himself dissolves into light with immeasurable compassion. By dissolving from the crown of the disciple, the disciple's three doors and the Lama's three vajras become inseparable, and in the state of freedom from elaboration, awareness is allowed to relax and rest, thus raising the roar of blessings. The appearances of the three doors are known as the Lama. Conceptual thoughts arise as devotion. Relaxing and loosening in that state, the radiance of awareness is vividly devotion. Because it arises openly without clinging to characteristics, devotion is liberated into self-awareness. Self-awareness is said to be liberated into the unborn, primordially pure space. In that state, without elimination or retention, let it be maintained naturally. Although this is not in the root instruction, the practice experience of the Lamas has a very great blessing for the efficient generation [of realization].

What else is there besides the arising of thoughts? In "Vast Expanse of Clarity," it says: "The mind's thoughts are the play of awareness. All that transforms into appearances and cognitions does not stray from awareness." Also, in "The Gur," it says: "Apart from the precious mind, there is neither Buddha nor sentient being." Thus it is said. Second, to recognize the mind as emptiness: That mind is not established as anything, such as existence or non-existence, arising or ceasing, permanence or annihilation. Because it is free from all elaboration, it cannot be pointed to as "this." Therefore, be certain that it is emptiness. In the Tantra, it says: "By looking back at the very one that moves, it is self-liberated without abandonment, like scattered rain." Also, in "Joyous Abundance," it says: "The nature of mind, without a root, cannot be found by searching, and cannot be grasped. In the state of emptiness, just as it is, primordially, what is expressed is self-arisen wisdom." Thus it is said. Third, to recognize emptiness as appearance: Although the essence is emptiness, without change, because the self-display is unceasing, it appears as anything whatsoever. In the Tantra, it says: "Unceasing display arises as anything. Knowing emptiness and clarity, there is no change." And: "The nature of emptiness appears as anything. The characteristic of appearance has no birth." Thus it is said. Fourth, to recognize appearance and emptiness as non-dual: Moreover, appearance has no other cause or condition. The self-display of emptiness, like the moon's reflection in water, is such that appearance and emptiness are non-dual, each abiding in its own essence. In "Union of Sun and Moon," it says: "For those who realize that the objects that appear through focus have no inherent existence, for them, appearance and emptiness are non-dual." Thus it is said. Fifth, to recognize non-duality as self-liberation: Thus, the non-dual, self-arisen awareness, clear and free from elaboration, uncompounded and spontaneously accomplished, is self-liberated into the expanse of the three kayas. In "Subtle Arrangement," it says: "Complete Buddhahood is self-awareness itself. The essence does not change in the three times." Thus it is said. Sixth, to recognize the five poisons as self-liberation: Whatever thoughts arise in the form of the five poisons, such as anger, by staring directly at their essence and letting go abruptly, anger is not abandoned but self-liberated into clear and empty wisdom. Similarly, desire is liberated into bliss and emptiness, delusion into non-conceptuality, and pride and jealousy appear as the self-luminous, intrinsic essence, and are liberated into the state of the five wisdoms. By this
