The empowerment of the Great Profound Sky-Go Heart Essence, along with numerous texts of its practice instructions, and with the Eighteen Tantras, including the Sound Transformation Tantra, as its support, were all fully taught and the teachings entrusted. For twenty-five years, he stayed, contemplating and reflecting on the teachings. Thereafter, he practiced for three years in the various charnel grounds, attaining a rainbow body like the moon in water, free from birth and death. Through miraculous powers, he benefited many beings, both human and non-human, in various places. In particular, he resided during the day at the place of offering of the Indian King Dharmapala, and at night he went to the Cool Grove charnel ground, Sosa Island, the Extremely Illuminating, the Joyful, Bhasim, the Terrifying, and so on, dwelling with the burning cloud masses of dakinis, practicing secret mantras everywhere. At that time, King Trisong Detsen, who ruled Tibet according to the Dharma, invited him, and while extensively bestowing the teachings of the sacred Dharma, he taught these cycles of the most secret Great Perfection. At this time, there are two aspects to settling into the natural state: the actual settling and the restoration. First, it explains the necessity of settling into the natural state and how to do so. First, in "Vast Expanse of Clarity," it says: "The three doors of body, speech, and mind are disturbed; settle them into their natural state to liberate them." As it is said, having previously engaged in the activities that precede the three doors of body, speech, and mind, one rests from the exhaustion of cessation. As the Venerable Toktsepa said: "Weary mind, like a guest, rests and relaxes, free from elaboration. The original, natural, and unfabricated state is the Great Seal." Furthermore, when the channels, elements, and constituents are disturbed, the three doors of body, speech, and mind are disturbed, and one cannot engage in the virtuous practice of suchness. Therefore, one rests and settles the three doors into their natural state. In "After Death," it says: "Then, skillfully settle the three doors of body, speech, and mind into their natural state." As it is said, whether it is the conceptual thought of abandoning cyclic existence or the virtuous thought of the antidote, whatever aspect arises, focus your awareness on it with one-pointedness and meditate. Then, conceptual thought transforms, becoming non-conceptual. For example, just as muddy water becomes clear when left undisturbed.

Yes. Moreover, if thoughts are strongly suppressed, not only will the mind not abide, but it will also become an obstacle, and it is considered difficult to generate Samadhi. The Ornament of the Sutras also states: "Because attachment and so on are in that very thing, entering properly is for this reason, therefore it becomes true liberation, therefore that is definitely born from those." And the Two Signs state: "Attachment binds this world, but liberation is attained through desire itself." Thus, skillful means are taught. And, "Relying on objects, non-object arises excellently. Relying on non-object, non-object also arises excellently. Therefore, objects accomplish the nature of non-object. Therefore, objects and non-object should be known as equal." As stated in the Middle Extremes, in this way, the previously explained distinction between samsara and nirvana has disappeared. For those ordinary appearances, coarse attachments of habits, etc., that easily arise in the mind, and then the inner distinctions, growth, consolidation skills, etc., that are separated, gradually gather, allowing the eye consciousness to appear without distraction. This causes the mind consciousness, the six consciousnesses, to gather as one, and pacifies the mind that scatters outward. Then, in connection with the unconditioned Dharma, one does not focus on the basis of the six objects of perception, but rather abides in a state of not discriminating on any aspect of self-appearance, emptiness, what is to be abandoned, and the antidote. Reality means the unconditioned meaning, and abiding means letting it abide naturally, therefore it is abiding in reality. Secondly, the Consequence states: "At this time, the place of body, speech, and mind, those with yoga abide in reality." Therefore, on a comfortable cushion, the body relaxes its parts in a comfortable posture, either in the lotus position or squatting. Without any movement, relax comfortably and abide. Speech, do not speak any good or bad words, and relax the flow of breath. Without making any noise, abandon recitations, etc., and let the breath abide without any adjustment. Mind, do not extend the pursuit of thoughts of the three times, such as non-virtue and neutral. Furthermore, even the mere thoughts that belong to virtue are abandoned, letting it abide naturally, just as water becomes clear when it is not turbid, the three doors become clear on the basis, therefore it possesses the complete cause of Shamatha and Vipassana.
