When many things that match whatever large or small external objects are pleasing suddenly appear, think that all external appearances are penetrating back and forth, becoming empty, and finally, along with a long Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽), think that all external objects have completely penetrated and disappeared, and then rest. The sign that the channels have been trained in this way is that it feels empty or hollow, or that it appears like a rainbow but without inherent existence, which means that the skill has been mastered. The need for this is: In the past, these appearances have been held to be true and permanent, and their lack of inherent existence has not been understood. In the future, there is a need to become proficient in the lack of inherent existence of appearances. Based on this, one will gain confidence that true clinging will not arise to appearances during the main practice. Then, the second is to train the skill on the internal aggregates. Keep the body posture as before, and vigorously utter the word Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) from the mouth. Think that the dark blue-black, fierce, rough, sharp, and swift Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) syllable, which possesses four characteristics, penetrates without obstruction from all parts of your body, front, back, top, and bottom, becoming empty. Finally, along with a long Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽), think that the entire body, inside and out, has disappeared like a sieve, and then rest. The sign that the visualization has taken hold is that the flesh of the body throbs and aches like bubbles, and that it feels empty and hollow, or that the experience arises of the body being like a moon in water, without inherent existence, which means that the skill has been mastered. The need is: In the past, one has been attached to and clung to the aggregates, holding them as "I" and "mine," and has not realized that the body lacks inherent existence. In the future, there is a need to know that the body lacks inherent existence. Based on this, during the main practice, no matter what sickness or suffering arises in the body, there will be no self-grasping, and because one knows selflessness, one will gain confidence in being free from attachment to the body, and will not be overcome by illness or evil spirits. Ultimately, there is a need for the aggregates to dissolve into the rainbow body of clear light, so one should strive with strong diligence. The twelfth common meaning is the way to seek a consort: Oh, now you all should not be distracted, but listen well with focused reverence. Among these, the conduct of listening to the Dharma should be learned as it appears in the Great and Small Vehicle scriptures. As it says in the Jataka tales: Hearing is the lamp that dispels the darkness of ignorance, the supreme wealth that thieves and others cannot steal, the medicine that dispels all delusion.

It is the weapon that destroys arguments, the supreme companion who teaches the methods and instructions. Meeting with virtuous people is a supreme birth. In the assembly, the wise will rejoice. The opponent's rebuttal is like the sun's rays. The guides eliminate pride with mantras. Thus it is said. Furthermore, for the sake of the sacred Dharma, one must bravely endure hardships and diligently practice with intense effort. As it is said in the Great Perfection, Mind at Rest: From beginningless time, one has been accustomed to it. In order to pacify the suffering of afflictions in the city of mind, like the noble treasure, constantly weeping while seeking the Dharma, one should abandon weariness and rely on a virtuous spiritual friend. As it is said. Until karma and afflictions have not been eliminated, in order to pacify them, one must rely on a lama who is superior to oneself, in order to attain even more excellent qualities. The way to do that is like this: The son of the merchant Norrabten of the city of Kyipai Jungne, Norsang, went to all the regions of the south, constantly seeking the Dharma. He was prophesied and blessed by Manjushri Kumara and others, and relied on fifty-four lamas, and fifty-four lamas who followed their instructions, totaling one hundred and eight lamas. Or, like the Bodhisattva Sadāprarudita, when seeking the Perfection of Wisdom, he sold his body. Together with five hundred attendants, the merchant's daughter rode in a chariot and went to the city of Scented Spores in the east. Like offering and serving the Bodhisattva Dharmodgata, one should strive diligently and take it to heart.\\ Regarding that, from the primordial ground, before samsara and nirvana, without any limitation or bias, the realm of phenomena, the nature of which is primordially pure, opens to emptiness, like the center of the vast sky; clear and unmoving, like the depths of a clear ocean; clear and without obscuration, like the surface of a clear mirror; the essence is emptiness, the nature is compassion, the radiance dwells without obstruction, this is the primordial state. In that state, the four winds, with wisdom as their life, act as horses, and the essence of compassion and awareness stirs and manifests outwardly. From the aspect of essence, the field of openness; from the aspect of nature, spontaneous wisdom arises; from the aspect of compassion, the field
