It should be understood that although various appearances appear, they are actually of the same taste as water. This is the special instruction of Vajradhara, which shows all appearances as self-appearances. After that, the teacher himself will also become invisible. The play of manifold appearances, pure and impure, liberation and delusion. Om. Even though it appears like an illusion, it is not separate from the nature of the ground-essence, it is the nature of oneness. This verse is also an intermediate verse summarizing the main points. Third, explaining that straying away from equality is not tainted by the faults of elaboration, there are two aspects: explaining that appearances are merely like illusions from the aspect of appearance, and explaining that self-nature is unreal from the aspect of emptiness. First, explaining that appearances are merely like illusions from the aspect of appearance: This instruction was given by the great vidyadhara Humchen Kara when he met in person. So, if you want to know what these appearances are like, the impure appearances represent the way they appear like illusions, the five consciousnesses of the senses. Like the expanse of the sky, it can spread anywhere, and when thoughts and the materials and mantras of illusion come together, the arrangement of appearances arises like a magical illusion. The consciousness of appropriation is like a magician. Pure appearances, the forms of those to be tamed and those who tame, are also transformed by the illusory yogi for the illusory beings. Arranging the field of appearance like a city, and liberating and guiding through dream-like object transformations, one should understand it as mastering the great yoga of illusion. Having thus ascertained the meaning of illusion, in order to enter the gateway of illusory yoga, now we ourselves, when making offerings and giving alms, should regard all offerings or alms as illusory materials. Having purified them into emptiness with purifying mantras, and then with increasing mantras, the objects of offering and alms, that is, the objects of the six senses, are expanded into immeasurable appearances of desirable qualities as desired, and we should learn how to please them. Second, explaining that self-nature is unreal from the aspect of emptiness, there are two aspects: a general indication in the manner of being bound by the single nature of reality, and the various aspects of how to deviate.

Clearly showing, explaining in detail. First, briefly showing in the way of being bound by one Dharma-nature, for example, just as the images of stars appearing in water, no matter how many, are bound by the water itself; just as the appearances of the container and its contents, no matter how many, are bound by one sky. Like that, no matter how vast and numerous the appearances of samsara and nirvana are, one should realize their equality by way of being bound by one mind-essence. Second, how the categories are separated is clearly shown and explained in detail, divided into three parts: showing separation in the essence that transcends the characteristics of benefit and harm, showing separation in the nature that is free from the eight extremes of elaboration, and showing separation in the nature of the three doors of liberation. First, showing separation in the essence that transcends the characteristics of benefit and harm: the state of self-nature, the Dharma-nature, the essence of the Sugata, for example, even if there could be a Buddha filling the sky, its wisdom and qualities would not be truly established as an object of benefit; similarly, even if sentient beings with their own continuum were equal to the extent of the sky, their faults would not be established as an object of harm, therefore they are completely separate. Second, showing separation in the nature that is free from the eight extremes of elaboration: the basis, the Dharma-body, the essence of the Sugata, is separated from all places of birth and masters, therefore it does not fall into the extreme of birth; it transcends the time and master of cessation, therefore it is separated from the extreme of cessation; even something that falls into the side of existence, the Victorious One's eye does not see, therefore it is separated from the extreme of permanence; it has not become nothing at all, but has become the common basis of samsara and nirvana, therefore it is separated from the extreme of annihilation; it transcends the place of going, etc., therefore it is separated from the extreme of going; it transcends the place of coming, etc., therefore it is separated from the extreme of coming; in its own space, all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana are not mixed, but appear separately, therefore it is separated from the extreme of being one meaning; no matter how the appearances of samsara and nirvana appear, they are of one taste in the essence of the basis, the Sugata, therefore it is separated from the extreme of being different; therefore, it does not fall into any of the eight extremes of elaboration, therefore it is separate. Third, showing separation in the nature of the three doors of liberation: the basis, the Dharma-body, the essence of the Sugata
