Because it follows the true nature of all phenomena, there is no unchanging truth in dependent and changing phenomena. In order to truly realize the selflessness, equality, mere appearance, and emptiness, one should develop the wisdom of hearing and thinking. This is an intermediate verse summarizing the main points. Third, refuting the faults of benefit and harm is divided into three: first, identifying the cause of the conceptualization of grasping benefit and harm; second, examining the nature of the objects that appear as benefit and harm; and third, showing the greatness of the teachings of such realization. First, identifying the cause of the conceptualization of grasping benefit and harm: These instructions were spoken after meeting the great glorious Siddha Saraha. Benefit and harm, such as virtue and vice,

Moreover, if we examine and analyze from the perspective of reason, in the mindstreams of two individuals who engage in evil deeds throughout their lives, we cannot point out the essence of benefit and harm as being this, so we must determine it to be emptiness. Furthermore, if that person desires happiness and does not desire suffering, has attachment and aversion to enemies and friends, and has hope and worry about good and bad, etc., without any difference, then liberation is also liberation through the mindstream being liberated, and delusion is also delusion through the mindstream being deluded. Then, there is no difference between the two mindstreams not being liberated and wandering in samsara. Such good and evil, only have the difference of temporarily producing happiness and suffering, but do not exceed the increase of samsara. Therefore, one should know that from any aspect, there is absolutely no basis for attachment. Second, the reason for examining and determining in this way is: Like this, if one does not determine good to be emptiness, one will confuse the path of liberation with the good of merely accumulating merit temporarily, and will not attain the fruit of omniscience. If one does not determine evil to be emptiness, one will not know that not recognizing oneself is the obscuration and the basis of delusion, and thus will not grasp the cause of delusion. In this way, there is no choice but to be endlessly deluded in samsara, so one should know that determining it in this way is crucial. Second, examining the nature of gods and demons that appear as benefit and harm in this life is divided into two: the actual way of how to examine, and illustrating with examples that appearing as benefit and harm are false images of experience. First, the actual way of how to examine is: Where is the place of origin, existence, and destination of what is called the god of benefit and protection? In the objects of the senses, which of the forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures does it exist as? If one thinks it exists in the elements of the container and content world, one must examine down to the dust and indivisible particles. One must also think and analyze the actual forms of the names and meanings of the elements themselves. How does the god bestow benefit? For the demon who causes harm, one must also examine in detail in that way, so that one knows that both gods and demons are merely designated by name, and do not exist by their own nature. Second, illustrating with examples that appearing as benefit and harm are false images of experience: Like that, not only do gods and demons appear as benefit and harm, but also we, due to the influence of delusion, the upper and lower parts of the body

Furthermore, regarding the upper body as pure, one grasps it as a deity. Regarding the lower body as impure, one grasps it as a demon. In this way, hope and doubt arise constantly. Moreover, due to the power of the tight bonds of self-grasping, all experiences of happiness and suffering are nothing other than appearances of samsara, as a dream itself reveals. Third, the greatness of the instruction on realizing this is shown: If one realizes the key point of this in such a way, one will have faith in the meaning of dharmata and gain the conviction to see without hesitation. And, by eliminating all obstacles of not trusting in meditation and not entrusting one's mind, all obstacles are eliminated, thus becoming an obstacle-remover for meditation. In particular, by being free from the obscuration of ignorance and gaining control over the great power of awareness, realizing the fruition, and being certain that there is no other deity to seek other than self-awareness, and no other demon other than conceptual thought, it becomes the root of profound pacification and cutting through demons, and is also a benefit of ascetic practice. This is indispensable for both practicing deities and sending away evil spirits. If one knows this, one will surely become a great illusionary yogi who realizes that all phenomena are like illusions. Therefore, it is extremely important to practice the meaning of that instruction oneself and show it to others, as the great accomplished one himself said: Hey, little child of mind-less awareness, show this to those to be tamed, and there may be nothing but definitely secret Great Vehicle yogis. Having said that, he disappeared. Because the grasping of benefit and harm arises from the habitual tendencies of ignorance, therefore, through the wisdom of discriminating, attacking the flaws of clinging to the truth of benefit and harm, this is an excellent instruction. This is also an intermediate verse summarizing the meaning. Fourth, the collapse of the false cave of hope and doubt is divided into three parts: the collapse of the false cave of clinging to the truth of the object of hope—the Buddha-field with its qualities; the collapse of the false cave of clinging to the truth of the object of doubt—the state of sentient beings with its happiness and suffering; Praising the realization that the objects of hope and doubt are without inherent nature, and explaining it with a eulogy of names. The first part has three parts: ultimately, to the Buddha-field and its
