Both sentient beings and phenomena arise from the distinction between awareness and unawareness. The primordial protector, Samantabhadra, is the embodiment of the four kayas and five wisdoms. The essence of emptiness is the Dharmakaya, the nature of clarity is the Sambhogakaya, the compassion of self-liberation is the Nirmanakaya, and the all-pervading and vast nature is the Svabhavikakaya. The understanding of all dharmas is Dharmadhatu, the clarity and purity free from defilements is the Mirror, the pure and equal play of samsara and nirvana is Equality, the unobstructed gate of wisdom and vision is Discrimination, and the accomplishment of pure liberation is Accomplishment. Thus, the path to liberation as a self-arisen Buddha, awareness is also a kaya. The manifestation of the four kayas and five wisdoms is such that the essence of awareness is all-pervading, like the expanse of the sky, without location, completely transparent, vast, without foundation, and rootless. This very play is free from elaboration, hence the Dharmakaya. The aspect of self-nature and self-clarity is the Sambhogakaya. The aspect of the unobstructed gate of wisdom is the Nirmanakaya. The aspect of being the general basis of samsara and nirvana is the Svabhavikakaya. Having established the foundation, realizing the state of oneness in the realm of the dharmata of samsara and nirvana is Dharmadhatu Wisdom. The emptiness that has not become inert emptiness, but is clear, pure, free from defilements, and capable of manifesting anything, like a stainless mirror, is Mirror Wisdom. Knowing the state of samsara and nirvana existing purely and equally in the great emptiness is Equality Wisdom. The unobstructed gate of wisdom that individually discerns awareness and skill is Discriminating Wisdom. Because of gaining mastery over awareness, the activity of both purity and liberation is self-accomplished, hence Accomplishing Wisdom. Although there are many who take the awareness that does not truly know this reality as it is, and does not distinguish between mind and awareness, as the uncreated path. But those are, outwardly, grasping appearances as unpredicted, characterized objects. Inwardly, tightly clinging to oneself with the bondage of the unpredicted, permanent, substantial clinging. In between the two, like this, knowing that the clarity of awareness is uninterrupted, merely gaining stability, will only become the virtue that propels one to be born in the upper two realms, and will not attain the state of liberation and omniscience, therefore it is flawed. All dharmas encompassed by samsara and nirvana, truly knowing the state of the dharmata as it is, is the wisdom of truly knowing. The awareness of

Even while abiding in that state, the wisdom of all-knowing and all-seeing naturally arises without obstruction, which is the wisdom of knowing how many things there are. Although it is so unobstructed, it does not cling to objects, like a drop of mercury falling on the ground. The mind views samsara and nirvana as its own nature, and grasps appearances as real, which is the ignorance of the ground's reality. From this, the arising and ceasing thoughts of mental events mix with objects, like a drop of water falling on dry land. Those who have mastered the ground, the pure face of the ground's Buddha, are obscured by ignorance, causing the body and all the wisdom of the ground's essence to be within submerged in the radiance, and the outer radiance is transferred outward, spreading in the form of five lights as the play of the five elements. The wisdom of the Dharmadhatu is obscured by ignorance, so the outer radiance appears as blue light, which is the inner essence and the purity of space, called the great element. Because of the clinging to the truth of light, it appears as the sky, which is called the outer appearance, the impure appearance of the minor elements. The mirror-like wisdom is obscured by ignorance, and submerged in the inner radiance, so the outer radiance appears as white light, which is the purity of water and the great element within. Because of the clinging to the truth of objects, it appears as water, which is the impurity and the outer appearance of the minor elements. The wisdom of equality is obscured by ignorance, and submerged in the inner radiance, so the outer radiance appears as yellow light, which is the purity of earth and the inner great element. Because of the clinging to the truth of objects, it appears as earth, which is the impurity and the outer appearance of the minor elements. The wisdom of discernment is obscured by ignorance, submerged in the inner radiance, so the outer radiance appears as red light, which is the purity of fire and the inner great element. Because of the clinging to the truth of objects, it appears as fire, which is the impurity and the minor elements the outer appearance. The wisdom of accomplishment is obscured by ignorance, and submerged in the inner radiance, so the outer radiance appears as green light, which is the purity of wind and the inner great element. Because of the clinging to the truth of objects and clinging to truth, it appears as wind, which is called the impurity and the outer appearance of the minor elements. Because these lights reside within, the appearances of various colors and the five elements appear continuously. The manifestation of these five bases of delusion is as follows: Because the ground is obscured by ignorance, all
