The third is the suffering of illness: Even a person with keen senses and in the prime of youth, once struck down by a serious illness, loses all strength and ability and falls to the ground like a stone, the strength of the body declines, one cannot sit still, ability declines, one can only lie in bed, everything the eyes see appears harmful, all the sounds the ears hear are unpleasant, the smells the nose smells and the tastes the tongue tastes, everything becomes disgusting, the clothes on the body and the things one touches also become heavy and rough, even if you ask him something, he cannot answer, he can only emit faint sighs, and apart from not being able to hear faint sounds, he cannot say anything, no matter what kind of medical treatment and rituals are performed, they are of no avail, days seem like years, nights are endlessly painful, appetite is lost, food and drink become like poison, moving causes stinging pain, experiencing unbearable feelings, in a state of uncertainty between life and death, one longs to be freed from illness, and for death

由于疑虑和恐惧，内心充满了痛苦；无论向左向右还是向后躺卧，都只有不适，没有舒适的机会；有些人因错觉而自杀；有些人长期患病，其他人厌烦而无人照料；由于疾病的折磨，对他人恶语相向，把所有的帮助都变成伤害，让所有人都感到厌烦；有些人没有朋友和亲戚，无法得到照料，被寒冷侵袭，陷入不洁的泥潭等等，变得非常可怜；药物的味道和效力令人不悦；不情愿地被强迫进行各种放血和烧灼等治疗，生病的痛苦无法想象。 第四是死亡的痛苦：身体倒在床上，无法动弹；即使有如须弥山般的食物和饮料，也无法下咽；亲戚朋友围绕在身边，却无法观看和倾听；被各种各样的错觉折磨，因为对子女、财富和妻子等一切都依依不舍而沮丧；死亡降临时，内心产生难以忍受的痛苦；回忆起以前所做的罪恶而后悔，感到恐惧和害怕，心想这次没有完成临终的佛法修行，我独自一人前往来世，真是太可悲了，于是捶胸顿足；阎罗王的使者到来时，产生极度的恐惧；眼睛向上翻，鼻子塌陷，喝入口中的食物和饮料从鼻子里流出，身体的温度下降，感到寒冷，口舌干燥； 唵 (藏文，梵文天城体：ओम्，梵文罗马拟音：om，汉语字面意思：唵)！ 在这个时候，确信必死无疑；脉搏停止，由于风的扰动，体验到错觉中极大的痛苦，就像大脉断裂时房屋倒塌一样；小脉断裂时，出现瓜棚倒塌般的景象；死亡时，像从须弥山顶跌落一样昏厥，最终抓住中阴身的意生身，产生难以忍受的恐惧景象，从而面临来世的业果，非常痛苦。此外，还有普遍存在于所有人的四条痛苦之河； 除此之外，君主们无法让臣民服从命令，也无法征服敌人。

Filled with doubt and fear, the mind is overwhelmed with suffering; no matter which way one lies, left, right, or back, there is only discomfort, no chance for comfort; some commit suicide due to the power of illusion; some suffer from prolonged illness, and others become weary and have no one to care for them; due to the torment of illness, they speak harshly to others, turning all help into harm, causing annoyance to everyone; some have no friends or relatives, cannot afford care, and are afflicted by the cold, sinking into unclean mud, becoming extremely miserable; the taste and potency of medicine are unpleasant; unwillingly being forced to undergo various bloodlettings and cauterizations, the suffering of illness is unimaginable. Fourth is the suffering of death: the body falls onto the bed and cannot move; even if there were food and drink as vast as Mount Meru, one cannot swallow; relatives and friends surround, but there is no power to see or hear; tormented by various illusions, one is frustrated by attachment to children, wealth, and wife; when death arrives, unbearable mental suffering arises; remembering past sins, one regrets and feels fear and dread, thinking, 'This time I have not accomplished the Dharma practice for death, and I alone must go to the next world, how wretched I am!' and beats one's chest; when the messengers of Yama arrive, intense fear arises; the eyes roll upwards, the nose collapses, food and drink taken into the mouth flow out of the nose, the body's warmth diminishes, and a feeling of cold arises, the mouth and tongue become dry; Om (藏文，梵文天城体：ओम्，梵文罗马拟音：om，汉语字面意思：唵)! At this time, one is certain of death; the pulse ceases, and due to the agitation of the winds, one experiences great suffering in illusion, like a house collapsing when a major vein breaks; when a minor vein breaks, the appearance of a collapsing melon trellis arises; at the time of death, one faints as if falling from the top of Mount Meru, and finally grasping the mental body of the bardo, unbearable fearful appearances arise, leading to the ripening of karma in the next life, which is extremely painful. Furthermore, there are the four rivers of suffering that are common to all people; In addition to that, rulers cannot make their subjects obey their commands, nor can they conquer their enemies.
