That is a period of one month. This is the seventh chapter on entering the mandala of Dharmadhatu wisdom. Guhya (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning: secret). When practicing like this, at the time of meditative equipoise, in order to eliminate external and internal obstacles and to go on the path of Dharma, visualize oneself as a wisdom dakini, clear like an image in a mirror of emptiness, and in order to transfer the blessings of the lineage to one's own mindstream, gathering the empowerments of the three vajras is the path of skillful means, and taking the appearance of clear light as the path is wisdom. In the post-meditation state, similarly, for the first dakini, all appearances are the pure land of the great bliss dakini, and taking all existence as the wheel of wisdom illusory play is skillful means, and not departing from the great state of self-abiding, inexpressible, beyond mind is wisdom. Similarly, for the second, all appearances and existence are the support and supported of the illusory play of mirror-like wisdom, for the third, all appearances, sounds, and awareness are taken as the realm of equality wisdom and the play of the palace deity mantra, and for the fourth is individual discriminating wisdom, for the fifth is action-accomplishing wisdom, for the sixth, as above, all appearances, sounds, and awareness are taken as the realm of Dharmadhatu wisdom and the play of the palace deity mantra dharmata, and abiding in the state of awareness beyond expression without fabrication or alteration is wisdom. Thus, relying on skillful means is to dissolve the clinging of the three doors into wisdom, peh (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning: peh). In order to eliminate external, internal, and secret obstacles and to go on the path of Dharma, all appearances and existence are practiced as pure and vast. This is the chapter showing the nature of skillful means and wisdom, that is, the eighth chapter. Guhya (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning: secret). The basis of practice is that in one's own precious heart, there is a nadi called "Kati crystal tube," like a white silk thread, inserted into the center of the pupil of the eye and opened, in that empty interior, the essence of the five great outer elements appears as the colors of the five lights, and in the center, the essence of the five small inner elements, in the midst of bindus with five colors, abides the nature of body and wisdom, awareness, the basis of the clear light of the Tathagatagarbha. Relying on that path, one can manifest the qualities of spontaneous accomplishment and perfect enjoyment, and can go to the state of Dharmakaya Samantabhadra.

Ne! In the initial stage, possessing the key points of the doors, with eyes half-closed, look at the luminosity of the sun and moon, and at a place about an arm's length away from the crystal, the lamp of the completely pure space will appear, in the form of a rainbow, like an opened brocade. Within that, the lamp of the empty bindu will appear, with a halo of five lights, without any sharp corners. This is called the two outer lamps. The inner lamp is the lamp of drawing water with a rope, the door through which clear light manifestly appears; and the wisdom self-arisen lamp, the basis for the appearance of clear light, the nature of awareness, the spontaneously accomplished three kayas. When practicing in this way, by placing awareness in the space of the expanse and the bindus, what is called the vajra chain of awareness radiance will appear, like a golden thread floating, clear and radiant, subtle and curved, with a flowing, moving form. All of these appear flickering and trembling in the initial stage, sometimes clear and sometimes unclear. Do not have hope or fear about this, but fix the knowing on the eyes, and fix the eyes on the space, remaining without movement or agitation. In this way, by applying oneself to the essential points with intense, unrelaxed diligence, when the appearances of the lamps remain unmoving, one has reached the initial stage of familiarity. This is the ninth chapter, showing the essential points of the path. Guhya! The fact that all these appearances of the lamps do not arise externally is demonstrated by the fact that they are seen by oneself and not by others. The radiance of awareness arises from within oneself, and not straying into external or internal self-continuity is the ultimate essential point, so know this! Mixing the play of space and awareness without separation is a single essential bond, but if one grasps the appearances of space as external and awareness as internal, and understands this as the union of external and internal, it will be a great obscuration of dualistic grasping, and a bond to wander into stray paths. Therefore, listen carefully to the oral instructions that I, Padmasambhava, give to those who are the supreme vessels of this teaching, beginning with Abhaya, the holder of my lineage! When meeting the self-arisen Buddha of awareness, have faith in the state of uncontrivedness! When seeing the play of samsara and nirvana as pure and equal, recognize the entrance of non-attachment!
