From the manifest, engaging in uncontrolled and chaotic actions, etc., causes uncertain happiness and suffering to arise in the mind. If one clings to these as real, with hope and doubt, it becomes unstable, turning into a sickness of experience. Taking these as supporting demons, even if one strives with exorcism, offerings, medicine, etc., it is of no benefit, not even as much as a sesame seed. If one fails to recognize these as false appearances of experience, it can lead to madness, fainting, etc., causing death and endangering life. Or suddenly, one becomes like a beast, knowing nothing at all. In the clear appearances of calm abiding experience, various uncertain phenomena such as divine visions, demonic visions, clairvoyance of others' minds, etc., arise. If one becomes dominated by attachment to these manifestations, it becomes a cause for great meditators to degenerate into ordinary people. All of these should be recognized as the very nature of the great false experience, and one should resolve to let them dissolve on their own. That is, whenever any kind of happiness or suffering arises in experience, one should know it as unreal, and in that state, neither block thoughts nor engage in any practice. Knowing that experience is the nature of the great false experience, the appearances of experience will dissolve on their own, like mist dissolving into the sky. As it is said in Dzogchen: "Experience is like mist, it dissolves and goes away." If you block thoughts, it is like blocking the mouth of a great river. As Father Dampa said: "Blocking thoughts is like water breaking through the grass. Blocking it, the stomach does not feel well, Dingriwa." And the Great Orgyen (Padmasambhava) said: "Even if you know how to build many meditation fortresses, No one knows how to destroy them better than I do." Therefore, abandoning all the elaborations of thought and recollection, resting in the state of unfixation and non-grasping is the most crucial point. Having said this, he vanished without a trace. Now, to explain other correct ways of conduct: Sometimes, in places like the Akanishta realm of self-appearance, etc., this is the pith instruction. Sometimes, in the Akanishta realm of self-appearance, in a charnel ground blazing with fire, I met Zur Chung Sherab Drakpa. I requested him, "Venerable Lama, please grant me a pith instruction that is the essence of your heart, concise in words and profound in meaning." He replied, "Those who have accumulated merit and aspirations from countless eons ago, and whose karmic connections have ripened, if they wish to attain the state of omniscient Buddhahood, should at all times and in all ways

Devotion to the Guru, love and pure perception towards Dharma brothers and sisters, and compassion for sentient beings. Meditating on impermanence of life and the four are indispensable. First, rely solely on the virtuous spiritual friend, who is the root of the path, and thereby take the essence. As it is said in the Compendium: "The wise lamas should always be relied upon, for the qualities of the wise arise from that. Just as the sick rely on a doctor to be healed, one should rely on a virtuous spiritual friend without distraction." Therefore, the lama to be relied upon is one who, whatever Dharma he teaches, always thinks of it as the essence of Dharma, the ultimate truth, and elucidates it, such a virtuous spiritual friend should lead us from the straight path. If we divide it into subcategories, as it is said in "Clear Illumination of Samaya": "General and guiding, Samaya empowerment, restoring broken vows and liberating the stream of knowledge, the master of oral instructions and transmissions, are six." Therefore, one who has become the master of the entire teachings, who is revered by all and has received some kindness, is the general master. Like an ordained Khenpo, the master who leads one into the door of Dharma. The one who bestows Samaya and empowers is the master of Samaya empowerment. The one who becomes the place of confessing transgressions is the master of restoring broken vows. Like a Dharma teacher, the master who liberates the stream of knowledge. The one who gives oral instructions and transmissions is the master of oral instructions and transmissions, there are six in total. Specifically, here, the one who bestows upon oneself the empowerment that ripens, the guidance that liberates, and the oral instructions and transmissions, and clearly elucidates the wisdom of the inner meaning, is the embodiment of all lamas, the completion of the unified lineage. Therefore, one should rely on him as it is said in all the tantras and agamas, and in a state of no hypocrisy in the three doors, strive to accomplish whatever pleases the lama, and it is important to maintain continuous devotion. With deep devotion, thinking that such a lama with three kinds of kindness is the very embodiment of the Great Orgyen (Padmasambhava). When sitting, meditate on the lama on the crown of the head; when walking, meditate on the lama on the right shoulder; when sleeping, meditate on the heart; when eating and drinking, meditate on the lama on the throat. The support for prayer, the place for circumambulation, the essence of self-awareness luminosity, accumulation of merit.
