That Is a pure and undefiled entity with the nature of Suchness. Although there is absolutely no self-existent Buddha other than self-awareness, assuming that there is, For example, if there could be a Buddha filling the sky, even if one thinks that his wisdom and qualities should make the basic Tathagatagarbha better, Since there is no place to bestow benefit, emptiness is pure and undefiled. Although there is absolutely no self-existent sentient being other than self-appearance, assuming that there is, if self-existent sentient beings could also be as vast as the edge of the sky, even if one thinks that his karma, afflictions, obscurations, habitual tendencies, etc., should make the basic Tathagatagarbha worse, Since there is no place to cause harm, emptiness is pure and undefiled. Such a basic Dharmakaya, possessing the essence of the Sugata, is free from the eight extremes of elaboration, It possesses the three doors of liberation. First, the way to be free from the eight extremes of elaboration is as follows: The glorious protector, the noble Nagarjuna, said: Whatever arises dependently, T11621 - 204 Without cessation, without arising; without annihilation, without permanence; without coming, without going; neither different nor the same; the pacification of all elaborations; peace is the most excellent. To that noble one, the perfect Buddhas, the physicians, I pay homage. As it is said, the basic Tathagatagarbha is a nature that is free from all places, locations, and masters of birth. If one thinks that the basic Tathagatagarbha arises from earth, water, fire, and wind, it is not so. Because earth, water, fire, and wind appear from the Tathagatagarbha, earth, water, fire, and wind are the play of the Tathagatagarbha. Similarly, if one thinks that the Tathagatagarbha arises from space, it is not so. Because space appears from the Tathagatagarbha, space is the play of the Tathagatagarbha. Those elements appear from the Tathagatagarbha, and those elements are the play of the Tathagatagarbha. Therefore, the Tathagatagarbha does not arise from the realm of the five outer elements. In general, if one examines and analyzes any appearing phenomenon, there is no present arising. For example, considering a flower, at the time of its initial growth, T1621 - 205 If one thinks that it is the present arising

It is not the case that those who have already been born are past births, and those who still need to be born are future births. In between those two, there is no such thing as a present birth. As Rechungpa said, "Past thoughts have ceased and gone, future thoughts have not yet arisen, therefore the present cannot be identified." As he said, the Tathagatagarbha is not falling into the extreme of birth, it is a flawless pure state. The nature of mind, the Tathagatagarbha, is beyond the master of the time of cessation. If one examines and analyzes any phenomenon that appears, there is no present cessation. For example, if we take a flower as an example, if we think that the one that has already been born is the present cessation, that is not the case. Those that have already been born are past cessations, and those that still need to be born are future cessations. In between those two, there is no such thing as a present cessation. Therefore, the Tathagatagarbha is a pure state that is free from cessation. If one thinks that the nature of mind, the Tathagatagarbha, is a collection of existing things, that is not the case. Because it does not fall into the category of existing things, Therefore, the Victorious, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, with his transcendent eye, cannot see, will not see, and will not see it. Therefore, it is a pure state that is free from the extreme of permanence. If one thinks that the basis, the Tathagatagarbha, is a non-existent emptiness, that is not the case. Because it has not become a non-existent emptiness, but has become the fundamental basis of all phenomena that encompass appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana, therefore it is a pure state that does not fall into the extreme of nihilism. As Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa said, "It is not existence, the Buddhas have not seen it; it is not emptiness, the basis of all samsara and nirvana." The Tathagatagarbha is the nature that transcends all beings' places and masters. If one thinks that the Dharmakaya Tathagatagarbha has gone to the east, south, west, or north, that is not the case. Because the east, south, west, and north appear from the Tathagatagarbha. East, south, west, and north are the play of the Tathagatagarbha. For example, in worldly phenomena, there is no present going. When the foot is lifted, If one thinks that is the present going, then what is stepped on the ground is the past going, now going
