Deceived by the delusion of samadhi, the path of omniscience is not truly manifested. Therefore, first rely on a virtuous and excellent spiritual friend who possesses the view and intention, serve with the three kinds of pleasing actions, do not conceal or hide anything regarding the samaya, and practice the guru's instructions properly. With the wisdom of individual discernment, establish the view of the base of trekchö. Make the wisdom of realizing selflessness manifest. Determine that all phenomena included in appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana, other than self-appearance, do not exist as truly established, not even as a particle. Realize that the nature of phenomena transcends cause and effect, and that the essence of awareness, the equality of the three kayas, manifests as it is, and is naturally realized. Again, gaining control over the base, transform all the dharmadhatu of appearance and existence into the play of self-appearing wisdom. All appearances are empty from the mere fact of appearing, and from the mere fact of emptiness, there is appearance. The nature of wisdom, which is the inseparability of appearance and emptiness, is emptiness itself, devoid of foundation, beyond the mind, the great primordial liberation, the signless realm, free from elaboration. The aspect of self-nature is uninterrupted, spontaneously accomplished, the nature of kaya and wisdom increases, and the manifestation of various qualities is self-luminous, greatly perfected, and uncompounded. Thus, the realm of the great perfection of the three kayas, the nature of emptiness free from elaboration, the primordial purity of the original ground, is realized in the state of uncorrected, self-luminous great perfection. Therefore, the aspect of the emptiness of the base realm and the two dharmas of the base's essence of appearance are inseparable, being uncompounded emptiness and clarity. For example, the great ocean is not stirred by waves, and the turbid water is clear. In the clear and bright aspect, there is naturally the ability to manifest various images. Therefore, no matter how vast and numerous the appearances of planets, stars, and images may be, from the aspect of the inseparability of clear and bright water, the appearances are not established as different from the two. Water has the manifestation of clarity and brightness, and is uninterrupted and self-luminous. Therefore, it is possible for various planets, stars, and images to appear. This is also because the various appearances of planets, stars, and images arise from the clear and bright aspect of the water itself. If there is no water, how can clarity and brightness arise?

There is no cause. If there is no cause, there will be no realm where appearances arise, just as there can be no reflection without water. All phenomena encompassed by samsara and nirvana, the essence of mind is the abiding awareness, the great expanse of the Dharmakaya's equality, the uncompounded nature of emptiness and clarity. The self-radiance of the ground, From that aspect of radiant luminosity, all the appearances of the various realms of phenomena, like an ocean, are not done by action, not accomplished by effort, but are naturally present as the nature of the ground itself. Therefore, all phenomena are self-arisen and self-liberated as the self-display of awareness. Therefore, all appearances, from the moment they appear, are unreal, the play of mind. If there is no mind, Appearances do not arise, as shown by material form. Therefore, appearance is not mind, and there is no appearance separate from mind. Because of clinging to the duality of samsara and nirvana, it is mind. Apart from that, the phenomena of appearance are not truly established. Therefore, it is necessary to know that appearance is the playful expression of mind. For example, how does a rainbow appear in the sky? Yet it does not go beyond the sky, and everything is a magical display of the sky itself. No matter how vast and brilliant the appearance of the rainbow, the rainbow appears as the play of the sky. Taking the clear and pure aspect of the ground as the cause, and the knowledge of clinging to self and the mind of taking as the condition. When these two causes and conditions meet, interdependent arising occurs, All appearances as the environment and beings arise without actually existing. From the ground arises the ground appearance, and the wisdom of awareness does not come from another place. Therefore, the great wisdom is like an eye that sees the self-face of the Dharmakaya's abiding awareness. Due to the obscuration of ignorance, the first impure knowledge, the appearance of impurities becoming an object, is the cause, and the movement of karmic winds is the condition. Taking the clinging to "I" as the cause, there is the ignorance of being the only self and. For the ignorant knowledge of the appearance of objects, there is innate ignorance, and for the arising of clinging to objects as real, there is the imputed ignorance. When these three come together, the part of taking the good, bad, And intermediate objects is the three causes of ignorance.
