Do not seek the Buddha elsewhere! This is (the above content). Second, introducing the mind as the union of clarity and emptiness: Here, when introducing the mind as primordial emptiness, rootless, the great original purity, it is included within four types of pith instructions. What are the four types of pith instructions? Directly introducing self-nature. Completely severing (doubts). Establishing confidence in liberation. Establishing the manifestation of inherent nature. Here, first is directly introducing self-nature. The present awareness, free from speech, thought, and expression, transcending the speculation of the mind, difficult to fathom, this neither "this" nor "that," free from any characteristics and identification, the uncompounded emptiness and clarity, is the manifestation of the realization of the great self-born wisdom, Dharmakaya, original purity. As it is said in the Ornament of Clear Realization: Realization transcends thought, the self-nature with characteristics is pure, liberated from the extremes of emptiness and existence, thought is exhausted, transcending consciousness. Therefore, the present awareness, without mixing any mental fabrication, placing awareness in a natural, unadulterated state, recognizing that this is self-born wisdom. The Dharmakaya's realization that transcends thought, abiding in the state of being inseparable from the three of the four parts, without being moved. Seeing all past and future thoughts and conceptions as the manifestation of awareness, the play of wisdom. For any appearance, not engaging in acts of acceptance or rejection, negation or affirmation, but on the basis of completely severing (doubts), abiding in a state free from elaboration. In this way, all appearances and arising, like bubbles dissolving into water, naturally arise and naturally liberate, and awareness transforms into wisdom. Appearances and existence all transform into the realization of the great ground of manifestation. From that state, on the confidence of liberation of awareness, making a decision right there, abiding in the Dharmadhatu of the equality of the three bodies, not arising from the place of liberation of the result, a temporary or later result. As it is said: What is called self-mind liberation, Is not going from one place to another. The mind that no one can liberate, from the root has no place of birth, dwelling, or going. Cannot be found through analysis, there is no cause. Because there is no foundation, it abides in emptiness and clarity. That mind that abides in self-illumination, through the key point of liberation, therefore there is no partiality. Through the liberation of time, therefore there is no dependence. Through effortless liberation, therefore there is no effort and striving. This is abiding in The confidence of liberation. Thus it is said. The realization of such profound pith instructions, relying on the karmic connection of one's own past good aspirations, and the two accumulations of

Through the power of the result, relying on the lineage lama's compassionate embrace, and through the blessings of the profound empowerments that ripen and instructions that liberate, when the meaning of reality is directly realized without any distortion, do not engage in any intellectual fabrication or manipulation. Instead, rest in the expanse of the great luminosity that transcends the intellect. By settling into the expanse of the primordially pure, original ground of awareness, which is beyond expression, one is liberated into the great state of equality between samsara and nirvana. As it is said: If you realize the nature of the Dharmakaya, everything is spontaneously accomplished. If you manipulate it with intellect and mind, you will stray into the three realms. If you settle into the meaning that is beyond intellect and inexpressible, you will be liberated into the Dharmadhatu, the equality of samsara and nirvana. Thus it is said. In this way, by practicing the stages of mind training, common obscurations of the mind are purified, and clinging to appearances is reversed. In particular, by seeing that the characteristics of the mind are without inherent existence, one is liberated into the great wisdom of awareness and emptiness. Ultimately, one becomes inseparable from all the Buddhas and is liberated into the vajra heart, the original ground of being. Third, the actual explanation of settling the mind: "The movements of people, etc., remain still." This is what is taught. Here, when settling the mind, the Prasangika states: "At this time, the key points of body, speech, and mind, should be settled by those who possess yoga." Thus, when the elements and constituents have become disturbed by special preliminary practices, in order to maintain the natural state without artificiality, in a pleasant place free from obstacles to meditation, where qualities increase, in a secluded and supreme place blessed by past accomplished yogis, the body should be free from the actions of accepting or rejecting good or bad, like a corpse in a charnel ground, without any movement or activity, the body should naturally remain in a comfortable state. Speech should be like a lute with a broken string, transcending the object of expression, like a mute person, not speaking to others, nor reciting words for oneself, abandoning all efforts such as repetition and recitation, and ceasing to speak. The mind, from the beginning, is free from elaboration, like a cloudless sky. For self-arisen wisdom, there is no acceptance or rejection, negation or affirmation, etc.
