Killing other beings leads to a short life, and striking others leads to many diseases. Stealing the possessions of others leads to poverty, and greed and harmful thoughts accumulate many sins. In short, all the suffering from hearing a little unpleasantness now to experiencing the general suffering of samsara, especially the unbearable suffering of the lower realms, arises from this alone. Why say more about the reason? Like us ordinary children, because we only cherish ourselves and only pursue our own interests, our wishes are not fulfilled, and we are tormented by endless suffering. Even now, there is no time for liberation, and this is how it has become. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, from the stage of learning the path, cherished only others and pursued only the interests of others, so both benefits were perfectly fulfilled, and everything was effortlessly and naturally accomplished. By examining the difference between these two, one can understand. Therefore, cherishing oneself This has created various unpleasant things from beginningless samsara to the present. Wanting to make oneself perfect, but entering the wrong path, countless eons have passed. Although countless eons have passed, not only has nothing been accomplished, but one has been tormented by suffering. If the thought of wanting to accomplish one's own benefit is used for the benefit of others, and one begins to accomplish the benefit of others, then one will become a Buddha very quickly, and without a doubt, everything that perfectly fulfills the benefit of oneself and others will be naturally accomplished. Because this has not been done, time has been spent on things that are difficult to do and meaningless. Having understood this, one must rely on good mindfulness and, with many efforts, constantly think and become accustomed to not letting the chief enemy—self-cherishing—arise, and to cut off what has already arisen, and to ensure that it does not arise and does not continue to arise. Similarly, one must repeatedly think about the benefits of cherishing others, generate joy, and increase the cherishing of others that has not yet arisen. One must generate feelings of compassion, pain, and pleasure for others, and generate the same mind as before for oneself. If one repeatedly practices in this way, then these two

When you can determine the faults and merits yourself through the power of experience and are able to change positions, you will cherish other sentient beings as you cherish yourself. At that time, when you see sentient beings tormented by suffering and lacking happiness, compassion and love will arise spontaneously, just as you now wish to be free from suffering and to have happiness. Pure altruism will naturally emerge, which is proven by reason. Gradually, the generation of bodhicitta will also become complete. Therefore, know that this kind of mind is the supreme instruction for training the mind of enlightenment. It is extremely important to generate bodhicitta by gradually becoming accustomed to the practice of love and compassion. Because bodhicitta that is not like that is only generated in words. Lord Atisha said: "Not knowing how to train in love and compassion is what Tibetans know as a Bodhisattva." So what should be done? It is said that one must learn and practice in stages from the beginning. "What Tibetans know" is a statement of displeasure. "What should be done" means "How should it be done?" Fourth, the practice of abandoning evil and adopting virtue is from the Seven Points of Mind Training: "Train in giving and taking alternately. Do these two by means of the breath." As it is said. This is also said to be practiced starting with one's own mother in this life. Clearly visualize your own mother, and from the point of remembering her kindness, this old mother has experienced all kinds of suffering in samsara, how pitiful. Now I too should repay her, benefit her, and eliminate her harm. What can benefit her? Happiness can directly benefit her. The virtue that is the cause of happiness can indirectly benefit her. Therefore, all of your own happiness and virtue, in the form of white light, ride on the wind horse and come out of your right nostril. Entering the mother's left nostril in front, think that the body and mind are filled with happiness and virtue from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet. Again, what can harm this mother? Suffering can directly harm her. The non-virtue that is the cause of suffering can indirectly harm her. Therefore, at the same time as you inhale air from your nostrils, all of the mother's sins, obscurations, and suffering, in the form of black light, are carried by the wind and come out of the mother's right nostril. Entering your own left nostril, reaching the heart.
