Wishing to take possession with greed, thinking how wonderful it would be to take possession of the other person's property by any unlawful means, such as stealing or robbing in a way that covets the property of others, and ultimately hoping that it becomes one's own property. To perfect covetousness, five conditions must be met: being particularly attached to one's own enjoyment; having a mind of thirst and attachment, desiring to accumulate enjoyment; fully contemplating and savoring the good things of others, such as wealth, having a mind of attachment; wishing that what belongs to others becomes one's own, having a mind of miserliness; and, due to covetousness, being without shame and not knowing the faults, having a mind that suppresses shame and faults. Ninth, harmful intent is: As it says before, "Harmful intent is hatred towards sentient beings." That is, towards sentient beings who are unpleasant, thinking in the mind to recognize this, and with any of the three afflictions as motivation, wanting to strike, etc., or thinking how wonderful it would be to kill, bind, or destroy the enjoyment of others, etc., thereby striving to generate thoughts of hatred or harm towards that sentient being. Ultimately, resolving to do so. This also requires five conditions: clinging to the signs of the cause of harm, having a mind of anger; being unable to tolerate causing harm, having a mind of intolerance; repeatedly engaging in inappropriate mental activity, having a mind of resentment; thinking how wonderful it would be to kill, strike, etc., having a mind of miserliness; and being without shame and not knowing the faults, having a mind that suppresses shame and faults. Tenth, wrong view is: As it says before, "Seeing that there is no good or non-good is a wrong view." That is, regarding things that have meaning, such as good and non-good, thinking in the mind to slander their meaning, and believing this to be true, thereby wanting to slander with any of the three afflictions as motivation, therefore, striving in thought towards that idea, and ultimately resolving. Wrong view among the ten non-virtuous actions is nihilistic view, which has four aspects: denying good deeds and bad deeds, etc., this is slander of the cause; these two

Saying there is no ripening result of karma is a slander against the fruit; saying there are no parents, no past and future lives, etc., is a slander; saying there are no Arhats, etc., is a slander against existing realities. This is also perfected by five factors: the mind of ignorance that does not know what is to be known as it is; the violent mind that delights in evil; the mind that constantly engages in wrong conduct, holding to be true what is not the true cause; the mind of decline that slanders virtuous conduct and offerings, etc., saying they do not exist; and the mind that is overwhelmed by wrong views, without shame or knowledge of faults, i.e., being endowed with these. It is not perfected if these five are not complete. The principles of the weight of these karmic results are as stated in the Letter to a Friend: "Constant engagement and no antidote, actions arising from a basis endowed with chief qualities, the five great ones are virtue and non-virtue." Constant, i.e., doing it regularly, is the difference in application; Manifest attachment, i.e., doing it with intense motivation, is the difference in intention; whether virtue or vice, there is no opposing side to oneself, is the difference of no antidote; benefiting parents and dharma speakers, etc., is the difference of the basis; benefiting or harming the lama, the Three Jewels, etc., is the difference of the basis endowed with chief qualities. The result arising from these will certainly produce great results, so it is said to be great. Furthermore, the lightness and weight of the nature of the ten paths of action are: of the seven of body and speech, the former is heavier than the latter, and the latter is lighter than the former. Of the three of mind, the latter is heavier than the former, and the former is lighter than the former. That is, doing it with intense afflictions, and considering it to be a virtue, then rejoicing and approving of it, thinking and doing it for a long time, and doing it to parents and other special objects, these are all heavy. Second, in terms of results: there are the ripening result, the result similar to the cause, the dominating result, and the human result. First, regarding the ripening result, as stated in Resting the Mind in its Natural State: Small actions of the ten karmas lead to animals, medium to pretas, great to hellish suffering, the ripening result. This means that great karma done with the intense three poisons will be reborn in hell; medium will be reborn as a preta; small will be reborn as an animal. Mindfulness
