There is no such thing as living that is superior to all. However, it says in that itself: "If the observation of continuity is wrong, It will become thinking that there is permanence." As it is said, for example, even for the rapidly flowing water, foolish people will think that yesterday's water is still there today. Similarly, just because the front and back are continuous, they mistakenly cling to it as one, and are convinced that it is momentary, which is ignorance. Therefore, it is difficult for people in the world to know their own reality, so they themselves think it is constant, which is extremely foolish. Therefore, not to mention the time between lifting and lowering the feet and the front and back of speech, even in the moment of the mind, this life is being exhausted and getting closer and closer to the Lord of Death, so there is no pause at all. In this way, life is of the nature of a moment. That moment is very short, so life cannot be established as something that lasts for a long time. There is no other life other than that moment, so life is just a fabrication and has no real establishment. As it says in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: "Like experiencing a dream, Whatever things are used, They have all passed, And become objects of memory." As it is said, no matter how long it has been, those have only become the realm of present memory, just like having a dream. Today's life, if you think about tomorrow, is also like that. The future life will also Similarly, it will become like that after that, so think of it as like a dream, without the nature of reality, do not cling to permanence and truth, do not live leisurely, but do good deeds. The instruction manual says: If you measure the length of life from birth to the present with your mind, it is only a moment; thinking that it is as unreal as a dream, you should do good deeds without懈怠; cultivate unchanging renunciation and sadness. As it is said. This is the method of cultivating subtle impermanence, that is, by recognizing that there is no reality like a dream, thereby generating renunciation, which is a characteristic of this instruction manual. The wise men who were passed down from the hand of the former virtuous friend Phyag sor ba, were the general collection of gross impermanence as the thought of certain destruction and death without autonomy, and subtle impermanence.

Just as the water flowing from a steep mountain changes every moment, and the examples of a shepherd herding livestock, etc. The disturbances arising from sudden impermanence, the disturbances of deities, and the disturbances of both, as well as sudden death due to food, clothing, shelter, etc., one should think in this way, cultivating the mind through these three ways. Our virtuous friend, whose name is difficult to praise, for the sake of meaning, from the presence of the sun of teaching and practice, Rinpoche, we learned about the changes in the order of years, months, days, and hours, and the coarse, external impermanence of ultimately dying; as well as the subtle, internal impermanence of life being exhausted in an instant; and when eating, thinking that death will come quickly, so think, this is the last time eating; when wearing clothes, think, this is the last time wearing clothes; when talking to others, think, this is the last time talking, etc., combining all actions to practice, thinking with strong intention, practicing impermanence, thus doing three things. The key to all impermanence lies in subtle impermanence, and it is very important to think about this subtle impermanence, thus repeatedly teaching. Furthermore, there are eight untimely deaths: A sick person not seeking service, wrongly administering medicine, i.e., a doctor giving the wrong medicine, as well as the punishment of a king, humans and non-humans taking away essence, harm from elements such as fire, harm from fierce livestock, falling into a cliff, and being tormented by curses and zombies, etc., these are explained in detail in the Sutra of the Merits of the Past Aspirations of the Seven Buddhas. Other scriptures say: sleeping with an old woman, taking medicine without being sick, sleeping in an old house, going alone to a place where there are spirits, a sick person not listening to the doctor, participating in war, challenging someone who cannot be defeated, being powerless but sleeping in a place where demons, etc., are, these are also said to be untimely causes of death. Also, crossing a large river without swimming, and drinking poison, etc., these are also explained there. Furthermore, regarding the way of thinking about the impermanence of death, there is a particularly excellent wisdom. The Four Hundred Verses says: Because one is to die, one is born. For sentient beings who are in a state of being controlled by others, death seems to be something that must be done, not like being alive.
