On that vast land, rice grew without plowing or sowing, each grain the size of four fingers, clean without husk or shell. If harvested in the morning, it would grow back by evening; if harvested in the evening, it would grow back by morning, leaving no visible trace of harvesting. At that time, the food was very coarse, so the waste turned into excrement and urine, and the channels for their discharge appeared, with male and female organs becoming distinct. Then, as they looked at each other, a dormant habit of non-celibacy awakened, and desire arose, leading to improper conduct. Others saw them and said, "Foolish beings, doing what should not be done, causing disgust to living beings," and they threw dirt and stones at them, shaming them. Therefore, to avoid being seen, they built houses of thatch, and that was the beginning of houses. At that time, rice could be taken freely whenever one wanted to eat. A lazy person took the rice for the next day's meal the night before. Others followed suit and took rice in the same way. Then, they began to store rice for two or three days, a week, half a month, or even a month. As a result, the rice grew husks and shells and had to be replanted. After that, the beings became discordant, each claiming ownership and dividing the fields to live separately. They stole and robbed each other, and the act of taking what was not given also began from that time. Then, they gathered together and decided to appoint one among them who was naturally virtuous and intelligent as their leader. They would give him one-sixth of the annual harvest as compensation. He would judge fairly and be respected by all, and he was known as the "king honored by the multitude." He was the first of all kings. His residence was called the "royal palace." At that time, those who were content with little, turned their minds away from household life, and lived in monasteries and forests were called Brahmins; those who did not steal, etc., were called Kshatriyas; and those who stole, etc., were called Vaishyas and Shudras. Thus, the distinctions of castes also arose from that time. The son of the king honored by the multitude was Radiant. After that, in succession, were Virtue, Supreme Virtue, and Sojong Phag, the five kings of the first kalpa. Then came I-born, Milk-beautiful, Near-beautiful, and Fire-holder, the five Chakravartin kings who ruled over the four continents. All Chakravartins after them ruled over only one continent.

Yes. Then, in succession, it was the lineage of the Shakyas, and finally the teachings of Gautama. His son was King Lion's Cheek, his son was King Shuddhodana, his son was the Bodhisattva Youth All-Accomplishing, that is, from being revered to being accomplished, there were 973,531 generations of royal lineage. Then, Rahu (name of a star) caused the royal lineage to decline. Regarding the abiding kalpa, it is said: From the immeasurable intermediate kalpas, to the age of ten years. Then there are 41,800 kalpas of increasing and decreasing, and there is only one increasing kalpa, those whose lifespan reaches 80,000 years. Thus the world is formed, existing in twenty intermediate kalpas. It is said that what is the intermediate kalpa belonging to the abiding kalpa? It is when the people of Jambudvipa start to decrease from an immeasurable lifespan, until the lifespan of ten years, which is the first intermediate kalpa. Many wise people say that it gradually decreases to 80,000 years and then begins. That is called the ancient time. In this ancient time, four of the thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Kalpa have already descended into this world, namely Krakucchanda Buddha at 40,000 years, Kanakamuni Buddha at 30,000 years, and Kashyapa Buddha at 20,000 years. At the age of one hundred, our teacher himself descended. Under the abiding kalpa, although the clarity of the lifespan of the people of Jambudvipa corresponding to this is not very clear, it is said in the "Land Chapter" that it appeared after the four castes appeared, after people began to lie out of fear of punishment from thieves, etc. At that time, it must have accumulated very powerful non-virtuous deeds, Therefore, just as it was just said that the beginning of hell, if it were not so, one would not be born there. Then, again, it increases upwards to 80,000 years, and decreases downwards to ten years. The other decreasing intermediate kalpas are counted as one pair of increasing and decreasing, so there are eighteen, which are called the eighteen intermediate depressions. At that initial 80,000 years, the complete Maitreya Buddha will descend. From then on, except for one Buddha, all the remaining Buddhas will descend in that intermediate depression. From that last ten years, increasing downwards or increasing upwards, until it becomes 80,000 years.
