如噶波巴大成就者累吉多吉所说:“在没有获得对累吉多吉上师的虔诚之前,说见到本尊神,说生起好的体验,都是谎言。”正如所说,以及世间怙主所说:“生起多少虔诚,就生起多少功德,虔诚大则禅修大,虔诚中等则禅修中等,虔诚小则禅修也小,生起多少虔诚,就生起多少相应的功德。”正如所说。因此,萨迦班智达也说:“即使没有领悟深奥的教诲,如果一心观修顶上的上师,心怀虔诚,眼含泪水地祈祷,也是把握了解脱之道的禅修者。”正如所说。一切种姓之本体的恩德上师啊,一心恭敬地祈祷,是证悟的功德在自相续中生起的方法,是容易做到且意义重大的神奇窍诀。这也是中间穿插的偈颂。第二,学习四种转心之法,分为两部分:转心的含义,以及其各自的道理。第一,含义是从哪里转?从轮回六道之处所转。通过什么转?通过修习四种转心之教诲来转。如何转?思维暇满难得和死亡无常之理,从而转变只执着于今生的今生之显现;思维业果不虚和轮回的过患,从而转变只追求来世人天善果的来世之显现。转变的程度是,见到一切轮回的过患,从而舍弃执着,生起并非虚假的希求解脱的出离心,这就是转心。第二,各自思维分为四种:思维暇满难得,思维寿命无常,思维轮回痛苦,思维业因果。第一,思维暇满难得:获得暇满人身珍宝,积累善妙的福德和愿力,如同优昙花般难以再得,愿迅速获得一切智智的果位。如是说,这次的场合,因为有闲暇修持殊胜的佛法,所以是“暇”;

As Gampopa, the great accomplished Leki Dorje, said, "Without gaining devotion to the Lama Leki Dorje, saying you have seen the face of the Yidam deity and that good experiences arise is a lie." As it is said, and as the Lord of the World said, "As much devotion as arises, that much merit arises. Great devotion, great meditation; medium devotion, medium meditation; small devotion, small meditation. As much devotion as arises, that much corresponding merit arises." As it is said. Therefore, Je Sakya Pandita also said, "Even if you have not comprehended the ocean of instructions, if you single-mindedly contemplate the Lama on your crown, with faith, tears welling up in your eyes, and pray, you are a great meditator who has grasped the thread of the path to liberation." As it is said. To the kind Lama, the essence of all lineages, to pray with single-pointed devotion is the method for the qualities of realization to arise in one's own mindstream. It is an easy to do and meaningful miraculous instruction. This is also an intervening verse. Second, learning the four ways to turn the mind, there are two parts: the meaning of turning the mind, and the way of each of them. First, what is the meaning of turning from? Turning from the places of the six realms of samsara. By what does it turn? It turns by training the mind in the instructions of the four ways to turn the mind. How does it turn? By contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment and the impermanence of death, the appearance of this life, which clings only to this life, is turned. By contemplating the infallibility of karma and the faults of samsara, the appearance of the next life, which seeks only the happiness of gods and humans in the higher realms, is turned. The extent of turning is when one sees the faults of all of samsara, and aversion arises, and a genuine aspiration for liberation arises, then the mind is turned. Second, contemplating each separately has four parts: contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, contemplating the impermanence of life, contemplating the suffering of samsara, and contemplating the cause and effect of karma. First, contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment: Having obtained the precious human body endowed with leisure and endowment, accumulating the causes and results of good fortune and aspirations, like the Udumbara flower, it is difficult to obtain again and again. May I quickly attain the state of omniscience. As it is said, in this present situation, because there is leisure to practice the sacred Dharma, it is "leisure";

Since we have obtained this precious human body endowed with the qualities of leisure, we must rely on this opportune body to accumulate vast stores of merit, and with pure aspirations as supporting conditions, we must integrate the fruits of goodness into our own minds, and generate pure causes and effects of virtuous actions. Because it will be difficult to obtain such a human body again in the future, like the Udumbara flower, which only blooms when a supreme Buddha incarnation appears in the world, or when a Chakravartin king arises, it is extremely rare. Therefore, do not waste this human body, but strive to accomplish temporary and ultimate benefit and happiness, and especially strive to attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment of all-knowingness, thereby taking the essence. Think in this way, and also pray that such a state can be achieved in this life. There are three points here: explaining the nature of leisure and endowment itself, the reason why obtaining it is of great significance, and contemplating the reasons why it is difficult to obtain. First, the nature of leisure and endowment. The "Resting the Mind in its Natural State" says: "Thus, obtaining a human body is merely ordinary, there are also the special and the precious human body." Like this, in general, there are three categories of human bodies: merely obtaining a human body, but not liking virtue and only engaging in evil, like the barbarians of the borderlands, this is an ordinary human body; unable to practice the supreme Dharma properly, being distracted by the affairs of this life, engaging in mixed good and evil actions, this is a special human body; taming one's own mind through hearing, thinking, and meditating, and being able to guide others to engage in virtuous actions, or even if one cannot do that, being able to abandon evil and only engage in virtuous actions, this is a precious human body. Among these categories, the latter is mainly explained here. Among the two, leisure and endowment, first, leisure is divided into two types: the actual and the incidental. The first is, the "Compendium of Trainings" says: "By the true law, the nature of many sentient beings, abandoning the eight unfree states, one always obtains leisure." Like this, leisure related to the eight unfree states is, the "Letter to a Friend" says: "Holding wrong views and animals, the state of hungry ghosts and hell, without the command of the Buddha, born in the borderlands as barbarians.
